Another positive review for Root Lifter!

by curvy-guy , Jun 19 '05
Pros: Really does work. Provides body at the crown. Holds all day.
Cons: Hair can become stiff/heavy if you use too much.
I have straight, fine, limp hair if it gets longer than 2", which is why I've worn it super-short for the past few years (think Halle Berry). When it used to be long, neither perms nor a curling iron nor a ton of hair spray could provide any kind of ...

Absolutly essential to anyone without thick hair

by somuchsofast , Jun 04 '04
Pros: Great volume, doesn't require blow-drying, no build-up
Cons: Can run down to ends and make hair crispy, price (though imo it's worth it)
Alright, so first a little background info and hair history. I guess I'll start out by saying that I'm a guy(guys use root lifters??) with hair that's about four-five inches long. I have naturally curly hair that for a while I just flat ironed. When I ...

by daisymae76 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Mar 21 '04
Pros: lifts roots, easy to use, smells pleasant
Cons: doesn't last all day
Unfortunately, I have very fine straight hair that does not like to hold any kind of style. I have used many body building styling products. Some work, some don't. What I really needed was lift on the top of my head. I needed lift in the roots of my hair ...

Matrix Amplify Root Lifter is a wonderful discovery!

by morgansmom1981 , Apr 20 '03
Pros: It really does work!
Cons: None
I have very flat hair. I went to a new salon to get my hair cut and she brought out this green bottle with a strange little pump on the top. She told me if was Matrix Root Lifter. She sprayed my roots and used the blow dryer. When she was finished, I...

Matrix Amplifying Root Lifter-Getting to the Root of the Problem...Sort Of.

by chrisceb Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Aug 02 '01
Pros: Good for thinner hair
Cons: Doesn't work for people with coarse or thick hair
I’m such a girly-girl. I love getting my nails done. I love going to the salon and getting a new “do”. And I love getting to try all the new products my stylist has to offer me.

When I don’t have a perm, my hair is pretty straight with some...

Best Product For Body!
by maynaysmom ,Sep 14 '06
Pros: Scent, not a heavy product, lots of body, easy nozzle
Cons: Doesn't hold up in rain
Amplify Root Lifter is made by Matrix and included in an entire line of products designed specifically for fine and or thin hair. This particular product is great for those who don't want to feel like they have product in their hair.

HOW TO USE IT
After towel drying your hair, you spray the root lifter just at your roots. (Also, the sprayer is very easy to use one-handed, which makes it a lot easier when stying.)Then you blow-dry. Works even better when used in combination with a brush or curling iron afterwards.

VS. MOUSSE
The main reason I tried this product id because a lot of mousses are just too heavy. Mousse is a product we tend to distribute all over the hair which can leave it sticky and sometimes even "crunchy"

THE DOWN SIDE
If you get caught in the rain...it's over. Unfortunately this product can't compete with getting wet...(unless you have a hair dryer close by--then you can salvage a little body)
