Pros: French door design, ice & water available at the door, filter system, alarm. Cons: Ice delivery is marginal. Stainless finish is tough to keep clean. Filters are expensive.
We purchased the Maytag MFI2568AES in August of 2006. At the time of this review, we have been using it for a year. When we were shopping a year ago, this "French Door" style was fairly new. Only a few manufacturers were offering this design. There ...
Pros: Design, capacity, & ice in the french doors! Cons: Cold spots inside!

Pros: Full width Deli drawer, elevator shelf, holds a lot of food! Cons: Not as much ice output as I would like.
We brought this refrigerator in May of 2006. We were building a house and I had researched a lot of refrigerators. I mainly wanted this refrigerator because it had the french doors, bottom freezer and the ice maker. This was one of the first companies ...
Pros: Pretty from the outside. nice alarms for door being open and temp Cons: look at the question of people who have purchased this unit would they buy again

Pros: Freezer is great, nice looks, maintains accurate temperature setting. Cons: Ice maker need improving, frig storage is somewhat lacking.
Nice looks and function. Double doors without the split space is great for deli trays and pizza boxes. The shelf and storage configuration could be a little bit better designed. The ice maker takes up room on the upper left and left door that limits what ...
Pros: Cold Water. Never out of Ice. Energy efficient. Easy to clean. Cons: No crushed Ice. Not enough storage for condiments in doors.
I love this fridge. Bottom freezer drawers slide easily. Very sturdy, of course, it's a Maytag. Have owned this item for more than year and just now need a new water filter. I use it often for coffee and tea and no longer need to buy bottled water for ...
Pros: The design is good: french door, bottom freezer, ice/water through the door is awesome. Cons: Unfortunately, despite it's great design, it doesn't work! It failed completely after 13 days.
In hunting for a refrigerator, we were thrilled to find that Home Depot offered exactly the product we were looking for -- the only french door/bottom freezer model with ice and water through the door. When we bought it in February 2006, it was only ...

We bought this fridge through the Sear's Outlet center for approximately $1700 almost $800 off the retail price as it had a few dings in the side. I love the design of the French door bottom freezer. The look is very high tech and looks great in my ...
Pros: Design, bottom freezer, filtered ice/water slide back shelves in freezer Cons: Not enough ice (ice2No); Fridge capacity, most drawers blocked with single door open, poor reliability.
Ice may be the name, but it sure is not its speciality. It has picked up the nickname in our house as the Ice2No. The ice maker does not make enough ice. The ice that it does drop, are in such large chunks that is difficult for the feeder to break up. ...
Pros: bottom freezer, w-i-i-de fridge and deli drawer. Cons: rattle, door and drawer closure

Pros: Great looks, great design, water & ice, huge storage spaces. Cons: can't clean the glossy front with a simple wash rag.

Pros: looks nice Cons: SHODDY TREATMENT OF MAYTAG CUSTOMER.
Purchased Maytag Ice2O April 20, 2006. It quit working on June 16. Called Home Depot on June 17 and by noon they had provided us with a loaner 'fridge to use until our Maytag was repaired. On May 17 Maytag "service tech" said both circuit boards were ...
Pros: It has a Gorgeous design and looks great in my new kitchen. Cons: IT BROKE AFTER 20 days!!!!!

Pros: Interior & doors designed to function even when placed next to wall. Big freezer. Cons: Limited door storage. Would rate ice despenser as 'fair'.
I've had my Ice2O for about 2 1/2 years and I've had very little trouble with it. Mine is against a wall on the left side, so if the ice maker gets jammed, I need to pull it out into the kitchen and fully extend the left door in order to pull out ...
Pros: French doors and bottom freezer with plastic bins. Food is at eye level. Door alarm. Cons: No chilled water, noise, cold air placement, small condiment shelf, only two milk gallons fit.

Pros: I love the look, and french door design with freezer below Cons: The 2nd control panel has failed 1 year and 2 months after purchase
In August 2006 we bought this product and the control panel failed. It took 3 weeks to get the part replaced, and the repairman had to come out 3 times before it was all working once again (see my original review below). The control panel was replaced ...
Pros: Looks pretty, love the features. Cons: DOESN'T WORK! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Pros: Works as advertised, water cold, ice works perfectly no mechanical complaints. Cons: Maytag customer service is the worst I've ever encountered.
I purchased three appliances (Refrigerator, Range, Dishwasher) on 11/23/07 because they had a "Thanksgiving Give-back" of $400.00 if you purchase all three. I ordered it in the bisque color and am satisfied with that. However, I submitted the required ...
Pros: digital temp readings on the front of the door, and the quick chill dept. Cons: NOTHING
I certainly must have an updated version of this fridge since I have none of the problems other reviewers have had. I have tons of ice - makes 8 pounds a day, and an unending source of icy water, all available through the door. This is the only French ...
Pros: Nice looking. Dealer agreed to replace defective appliance Cons: Unusual thumping and grinding noises almost immediately after installation. Required unloading and reloading twice.
We purchased the Maytag French door refrigerator from the local Maytag store. It was several hundred dollars less expensive than the same model sold by the Home Depot. Delivery was timely and the installers were knowledgeable. However as soon as ...
Pros: LOOKS NICE IN THE STORE Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE

Pros: Great appearance and super inside layout. Cons: I wish it had an option for silver trim on water dispenser.

Pros: This is NOT our personal refrigerator!!!!! Cons: Everything !!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Reliable, plenty of room, flexible shelving, keeps vegetables edible longer. Quiet most of the time. Cons: May freeze some liquids on top shelf near icemaker.

Pros: Great Space, Alarm Indicators, Looks good Cons: Freezes items that are placed next to ice maker. HVControl board failure.

Pros: beverage chiller, elevator shelf, quiet series 200 pkg. Cons: Organizers may not be helpful to all, flimsy in most areas
Just to brief you, here are the specifications about this fridge. My personal opinions are in parentheses. It's the industry's first French Door with external water and ice dispensing. (True) Plus it offers the largest fresh food capacity available ...
Pros: None Cons: This Maytag Refridgerator is engineered with defects with unknown consequences on life span.
We bought a Maytag Model #MFI2569VEM Full Depth French Door Bottom Mount (Bottom Freezer) from Home Depot on October 19. Steered away from LG to the Maytag even though we bought other LG appliances by salesperson who said LG has service issues on ...
Pros: Looks; features Cons: ice dispenser jamming; deli tray comes off; beverage chiller too short
We loved it when we saw it, and we still get lots of complements on it. It goes really well in our kitchen. The space is good, and we like the convenience of the french-door model with ice/water dispenser in the door. This was one of our few choices with that combination when we purchased it in May 2005.
For the most part we've been happy with it, but there have been a few issues.
* the ice ice maker/dispenser tends to get jammed quite a bit.
* the door of the full-width deli tray comes off far too easily
* the beverage chiller needs to be just a little taller to accept a wine bottle with the cork re-inserted.
These are all nuisances, but overall I'd have to say we're pretty happy with it.
Pros: Good spacing, ease to access shelves. Cons: VERY poor service
I have to agree with most of the other posts. The fridge looked great in the store and on paper. Everything that we were looking for in a French door, bottom freezer fridge.
Purchased our fridge on June 11th within in two days everything was frozen, (rock hard tomatoes) figured we set the temperature incorrectly. Even setting it to the high temp 38 everything was still frozen. Maytag send a tech took them 5 mins to say the control board was not working. We were informed today that the part will take another 2 weeks.. So we are proud owners of a freezer because we cant store any liquids or vegetable in it.
We went with Maytag because of its repetition and service. Will never again.
We've pretty much been happy with this refrigerator by raab-long ,Dec 14 '06
Pros: Bottom freezer, wide storage tray, through the door ice and water, milk container on door Cons: Slow to make ice, ice maker jams too easily.
We've had the Maytag french-door fridge for about six months and have had no serious problems with it at all. Yes, I sometimes wish the ice maker took up less room and worked faster, but it generally isn't a problem. The bottom freezer is great - it's easy to find what you're looking for. Plus, having the refrigerator part on top cuts down on how often you need to bend down to find something - pretty handy for those of us with back problems! The milk container on the door is great! It keeps the milk colder without freezing it, which seems to help make it last longer. The french doors are quite stylish too. We specifically like the wide tray that holds a full cookie sheet, though the cover keeps popping off whenever our granddaughter decides to get a snack!
Also, you can't place this unit against a wall that comes out past the doors, otherwise the doors won't open all the way
One negative for certain people - if you are a refrigerator magnet person be aware that stainless steel doors won't allow you to display your collection, or show off the kid's artwork.
Pros: Makes 8 lbs of ice daily. I can see where everything is. Cons: None to speak of
I not only sell these, but I have one. I love it! There is a ton of space in both the fresh food compartment and in the freezer. Over the past six years of selling appliances, I have discovered a few tricks to keeping the stainless steel clean. Use mineral oil and a soft cloth and go with the grain of the steel. After rubbing the mineral oil in, use a very soft chamois to buff it out. This process leaves the steel very shiny and helps it resist fingerprints.
Consider another more "Simpler" fridge by pmd467 ,Jul 13 '07
Pros: Bottom Freezer?? Cons: Not enough space.
My wife and I purchased our do it all Maytag Fridge just over a year ago. And I must say "They don't build them like they used to". The first week we had problems with the Icemaker. It went out. The Maytag reps didn't feel to hurried to help us. When the service tech got there, he had (Thank God) an "Extra" part on his truck. Apparently many fridges were built with problems. Well now the lights flash and the icemaker door flaps. According to other forums, the High Voltage Board is fried... 150.00 fix!
The bottom line is, if you can do without all the "electrical add-ons", a nice simple fridge should do the trick... As hard as it may be, stay away from all the extra stuff. My 10 year old Amana which is in the garage as a spare, has been trouble-free it's entire time! And just as cold as the Artic Circle.
WARNING: RUN AWAY FROM THIS FRIDGE by ice2-no ,Sep 05 '07
Pros: Freezer Drawer - can't think of any other pros because of all the cons Cons: Too many to mention. Poor quality, service after the sale, ice maker, undependable.
This refrigerator is a joke. We purchased it in April, 2006 and have had flooded floors from malfunctioning ice maker as well as issues with the circuit board. All the lights on the control panel flashed continuously and the door to the ice chute opened and closed continuously. Also, the fridge quit working on top of all this. It took 6 days to get Maytag out to take care of it. We were left with a refrigerator full of spoiled food. This refrigerator is an experiment gone bad.
Maytag service has gone downhill as well.
I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT!!! I bet the Maytag repairmen are really busy these days.
BEWARE OF THIS REFRIGERATOR!! by barkmz ,Oct 24 '06
Pros: Nice design and sleek look Cons: Doesn't work
Sure, it looks great. Lots of space, adjustable shelves, water dispenser and ice maker in the door made us choose this product. Easy installation, but no ice after 72 hours! Horrible Maytag support, no local repair people, and when we found a repair man, we had to wait 3 weeks for service (for a brand new unit out of the box) who was there for less than 2 minutes. After adjusting the water level for ice, he left. And still no ice. We traded it in for another unit. The new unit came, installed, and 36 hours later, we had 18 ice cubes. The ice maker stopped working again. No ice now for 2 weeks. We're returning it and trading it in for a competitor.
Pros: Looks great, very roomy, love the bottom freezer, can find food quickly Cons: servicing sucks, ice maker needs improvement. Plastic door inside needs improvement
Loved it when we bought it, but after a year, trying to get someone to fix it was a job. Had to go buy a smaller fridge just to keep up until they come to fix it. Still not fixed after 2 weeks. Until it broke loved the big space and did keep food cold. Hope they can fix it sometime this summer!!!
BAD PRODUCT & Service, 6 WEEKS for a part. by ducatifast ,Sep 04 '07
Pros: Pretty, and that is all! Cons: 6 weeks to get a part a used part from Maytag
Three weeks out of warranty all lights on the front start flashing and the ice door starts flopping. Unit will only run for 2 hours then shuts off. It must be unplugged and replugged to start back. Repair man says it is the main computer board in the back of unit. It took Maytag SIX (6) WEEKS in get the part in. In fact After many calls, Maytag told my repair man they could not get the part but thought an old part they had in the back might work so they were sending it. So far fig is working. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.
If you do, you will not be able to get parts.
I have heard Maytag had a recall on this model, and other customers have been able to receive parts at no charge, But not in my case, I had to pay full price for part. A price that could have been used to buy a small refrigerator from a discount house.
Two Major Service Calls in 16 Months by lovelylife ,Aug 07 '07
Pros: Love the design of the bottom pull out drawer freezer. Easy to clean. Cons: Two major service calls in sixteen months from the date of purchase.
I love the style of this refrigerator, and I love how it looks. I purchased this on March 24, 2006. Today is August 8, 2007. On Monday, August 6th, the control panel went out on the refrigerator. I called the service center, and I was told the first available date for service was Thursday, August 9th. The refrigerator does not cool at all. All of our food had to be moved to our large freezer, and to our fifteen year old Sub Zero (which has never had a service call). This is the second service call. I would not purchase a Maytag refrigerator again. I am very disappointed with this product. Thank heavens I bought the three year extended warranty - I think I'm going to need it!
Overpriced and disappointed with Maytag Ice2O by tranna ,Oct 09 '06
Pros: The freezer compartment with sliding drawer/shelves is great. Cons: Ice maker is too slow and takes up too much refrigerator space.
This refrigerator looks great, but its left door closes on
you as you try to search for items. The ice maker dispenser is extremely slow and the cubes stick together sending ice chips flying out as it has to break them apart in order the get them to fall out. There is almost no door space for bottled items, which makes them difficult to find on the shelves in the main section. If I had to do it over again, I would buy a simple, one door, top refrigerator with freezer and ice maker on the bottom. Getting ice from the bottom would not be as inconvenient as having to clean ice chips off the floor every time I get ice.
caveat emptor - new maytag slogan by tennesseeman ,Sep 08 '07
Pros: when it works, kept freezer cold enough, ice and cold water worked Cons: the computer from hell
milk compartment can get too cold and freeze milk
Very disappointed. Circuit board failed, a fridge full of rotten food and 9 days later not part in sight. Do not buy this refrigerator!
Maytag used to have a good reputation, but this refrigerator has ruined it for me. I am very disappointed. Reading this board, I realize I am not the only one who has been rudely awakened to the poor quality and service of the Maytag company. I hope there is a recall on this piece of high priced garbage.
Very happy with our purchase. by toeknee1 ,Mar 07 '08
Pros: size, looks, adjustable shelfs Cons: none so far
We've had the Maytag MFI2568AEW (white) french door refrigerator for several months now and are very satisfied with it.
If this thing were another inch bigger we would not have been able to get it in the house, so you'd better measure carefully. We do have the same cold spots (next to the ice maker) as mentioned in other reviews, but overall we're very happy with the refrigerator.
We caught it on sale at Menards and saved quite a bit over the competition.
Pros: cooling, looks, electronics Cons: shelves, compressor noisier, rear wheels not adjustable, ice maker not adequate, compressor is loud.
Weve had our Maytag MF12568EQ (bisque color) for a month, so its time for a review. Pros and Cons are comparisons to our previous GE Profile. In general, I would not purchase another Maytag refrigerator. Pros: great cooling (-1, 37), good looks (especially now that I removed the Maytag emblem on the right door), nice features like digital temperature adjustment, vacation mode, open door alarm, and a locking feature. Cons: refrigerator shelves hard to manage to accommodate container heights (might have to remove one shelf), compressor noisier, rear wheels not adjustable to allow easy regular cleaning under unit, ice maker not adequate (I have to physically pull the ice forward to make room for more production), ice contains a lot of air which makes the ice melt faster, ice maker fill and drop programs are noisy, compressor is louder then GE, doors are pretty much not self closing. In general, I would not buy another Maytag refrigerator.
Had this product for a little over a year and it just started having the issue with the lights blinking and ice door opening on it's own. I just read that I could fix this by replacing the circuit board. Could you explain to me how this is done and if it resolved the issue completely?
I bought a the Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer and had a horrible experience with the product. After the issues I have had with the washer and dryer along with the fridge, I will never buy another Maytag product.
Stay away from this Fridge by faamecanic ,Nov 19 '07
Pros: Big Fridge, good layout Cons: Ice Maker that doesnt work and floods kitchen
Stay away from this Fridge. I have had mine about 13 mo and the ice maker never worked right. And now this morning I woke up to a flooded kitchen for the third time!!
Problem is the ice maker gets jammed up (the lever that senses when the ice maker is full doesnt always work). For the third time since I have had this fridge the ice maker try fills with water ...and keeps filling until the water overflows and comes out the ice chute.
This was almost $2500 down the tubes, and of course being as it is one month out of warranty, and after reading the horror stories from those that are still IN warranty..Im sure Maytag will do nothing about it. ...
Ice 2 O from Maytag may be expensive but worth it. by dominicshugart ,May 01 '06
Pros: Bottom freezer, ice in door, french doors, ease of use for both freezer and cooler. Cons: The stainless steel is prone to rusting and needs to be polished regularly to prevent.
This refrigerator is fantastic. It's a lot of money to spend on a kitchen appliance but has been well worth it thus far. The bottom freezer drawer is spacious and, even when well-stocked, makes it easy to find things. The french doors are a great touch as is having the ice in the door (a feature not otherwise available in bottom freezer units). The stainless steel model does need to be carefully maintained to avoid rust - we found a couple of tiny spots after two weeks but they did disappear when we used the polish supplied.
Pros: Beautiful design, water and ice through doors & very accessible. Cons: Needs at least one more independently controlled temperature zone (e.g. drawer).
We recently purchased the Maytag (stainless steel) ICE2O refrigerator from Home Depot and it has been installed in our home since March 19th. We love this appliance! All the features work as advertised from the max cool function to the vacation mode. We're very happy with the internal considerations especially the deli drawer and the in-door beverage cooler. There is plenty of lighting throughout including the freezer and the drawers maximize their assigned space unlike other refrigerators we've had. Overall were extremely pleased with our purchase.
Pros: nice design Cons: doesn't work, tons of service calls
I have had this refrigerator less than a year and it went completely dead! I have lost tons of money on spoiled food. Maytag customer services completely stinks. I paid $2500 for this fridge and it doesn't even keep food cold when it is operational. I bought a Maytag because it went well with my GE appliances, wish I had bought the LG model instead. I know I will have years of service calls ahead of me with no means of replacing this piece of junk! Under no circumstances buy any Maytag appliance!
Pros: No pros. Cons: Doesn't work and is now "unrepairable" according to Maytag. Enough said
We purchased this unit in December 2007 from a local Lowe's outfit. Unfortunately, last week it stopped producing cold air and we called our local Maytag authorized service center. They came out, told us the compressor was bad and quoted us $ 700.00 to repair it. Needless to say, it was a real mistake not purchasing the extended warranty. Then, two days ago, they came back, installed the compressor, then said it had additional issues. They called their dealer direct service line that then said, get this, it was not repairable. Can you imagine a high-end fridge, only 18 months old, that is not repairable. So we called Maytag direct, they took our information and said they would get back to us within 48 hours. We're not keeping our fingers crossed that they will do the right thing and are preparing legal action if they do not replace it for free. If anybody knows any way to get to the right people within Maytag/Whirlpool by going around their frontline call folks, we could use some help.
So far I'm satisfied with this fridge by rjconatser ,Aug 13 '06
Pros: bottom freezer with french doors on top Cons: no ice crusher
Bought this model from Maytag in Feb. 06. Very satisfied with the total product. Yes, it does have limitations in the area of ice production and I do miss the ability to have crushed ice but all in all I am happy with the refrigerator
Pros: Lots of storage space Cons: Poor design- unreliable
From what I've read online, I should be happy ours lasted for two years before the dreaded flapping ice door/lights flashing/won't cool at all.
Purchased it from Sears along with their extended warranty. This is another fiasco! They're telling me it will be a FULL WEEK before it will be fixed!
Steer clear of Sears extended warranties!! A dead unit will not get any more attention than one with merely a broken shelf. You'd think they have some kind of priority system for catastrophic failures of this kind. Their suggestion is that I put dry-ice in the unit to keep the food cold- WTF???? So, I'm gonna have to track down dry ice daily and also pay for that myself. What a friggin' joke!
I'll never set foot in Sears again, nor buy any Maytag products.
Pros: can see all items so nothing gets stuck in the back Cons: wish it had crushed ice. sometimes ice cubes miss the glass because of dispenser placement
Bought this fridge after shopping for a year. very happy with purchase. had a problem the first week, repairman came, fixed the problem, and all is well. (water dispenser in door dripped.) everyone at maytag was helpful and friendly. VERY pleased with this new toy at our house. we have chilled water in our dispenser, it just took a few days for it to cool off. we also have not run out of ice. very easy to clean, just rub the front with club soda and dry.
Pros: ALL FEATURES ARE GREAT,VERY HANDY, EASY TO USE Cons: NOT ENOUGH ICE, WE RUN OUT, HAVE TO USE ANOTHER MAKER TO KEEP IN ICE.
The ice maker makes ice per the specification, however the size of the storage container in the ice maker is too small. There is not enough capacity to allow for a lot of usage a couple hours. The capacity is less the other thru- the door models by at least 2/3's
If you want a lot of ice FORGET THIS MODEL, YOU WILL NOT GET IT.
The other features and performance of the unit are great.
After reading some of these reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing an Ice2O refrigerator. My wife won out, however, as she wanted a french door model with ice/water in the door.
So far, this unit has performed flawlessly. I hear NO abnormal noise from this unit, nor does it lack in ice production. Contrary to what others have stated, the water dispensed by my Ice2O is chilled. The conveniences built into this machine are very nice.
I was doing an internet search on my model number and found the above link.
This is exactly what my frig is doing. How ironic that someone recorded this. I was shocked to find this video and I am going to put my own video on youtube.
Pros: Looks, shelf design, very spacious, water tastes great Cons: The ice maker is loud, no crushed ice, just cubed.
We just received the fridge last week and so far it is great! I LOVE how the fridge section is eye level, and the freezer's at the bottom. All of the other appliances in our kitchen are black and this stainless/black fridge looks great with them!! And amyhue, you said there was no chilled water, but ours is perfectly chilled...your water line may have not been hooked up correctly?
