Pros: Features work well if the control panel works.
Cons: Cheap parts and not reliable!

My husband and I wanted to buy a good quality dishwasher for less.  It cleaned well at first,but on close to the one year anniversary  AND the day before Thanksgiving the control panel lights started flashing and then nothing happened!  I almost died!  We had to wash everything by hand and then called to fix it.  The Maytag man came right away and replaced the control panel.  Then a year and a half later, the same thing happened.  Come to find out, this problem is so frequent with this machine you can buy the parts on ebay.  We replaced it ourselves, and now a year later, the control panel broke AGAIN! We are looking to junk it and get another dishwasher.  Don't bother buying this and spend a little more on another more reliable one.

Cons: Cavitates and does not clean only steams! Replaced many parts. Maytag will not replace unit

We have had nothing but problems with our Maytag model #MDB5601aww.

The diswasher was making electrical sounds and problems with the motor.

Also the dishwasher cavitates and the washer does not spray any water at times, just steams the dishes.

I bought the extended warranty and have had the motor, electrical panel, and other parts replaced, nothing works.

We are luckey sometimes if the dishwasher works at all! Our tec guy has no idea how to fix this unit, he put a request in for a new dishwasher, so far Maytag has not responded and I don't exspect any response from this company and I feel they have so many complaints that they would go bankrupt if they fixed or replaced all there units.

This one is going in the dump and will be buying G.E.

Please, whatever you do don't buy Maytag, they were an excellent company 20 years ago, but now it is a different story. As a owner of a Maytag dishwasher I am going through all the problems, don't make the same mistake.
