  • A Taste of Class

Nov 7, 2010 by merle_levy is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Restaurants & Gourmet
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Wheelchair accessible seating
Privacy booths and tables -- just draw the curtains
    Caring service
Cons: No sugar-free desserts (their pastry chef made a sugar-free cheesecake just for me -- shhh!)

Summary: I work in Sacramento's downtown business district, and I refuse to brown bag or go the fast food route. I'm sure some people wonder how I manage to eat out every day on a part-timer's salary. I'm going to let you in on my secret: McCormick & ... read more

  • Lunch At McCormick and Schmick's Washington DC

    Sep 14, 2013 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: It is an elegant restaurant with professional staff that offers excellent starters and side dishes.
Cons: The food is over priced and most entrees are are not that tasty.

Summary: Since I had a little bit of time between appointments and I was on K Street, I decided to meet a close friend at McCormick and Schmick’s for lunch.  I had attempted to go there many times for Happy Hour.  But it was always too ... read more

  • Pricey chain provides great food and service for your buck, but nothing special otherwise

    Oct 1, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: - Excellent quality food and service
    - Generous portions and entrees
Cons: - Expensive, and little unique added value for the price
    - Crowded, with long waits

Summary: I only had dinner at McCormick & Schmick's because I received a coupon from Alaska Airlines on a flight home. Otherwise, there's no way I'd pay the prices they charge for entrees (starting in the $15-25 range and climbing from there). I mean, the ... read more

  • A bit dirty but superb!

    Mar 31, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Superb food and staff.
    Cons: Dirty front end.

Summary: If you read the history of our reviews, you know that we dine at the higher end restaurants. We found a $25 off coupon if we dined by 3/31. We originally had our sons birthday party scheduled at this restaurant but when we couldn't find a room at our ... read more

  • It's A Happy, Happy Hour

    Mar 22, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Delish $2.95 appetizers are generously portioned.
Cons: Long, long waits; get there early or don't bother.

Summary: Thereís more to McCormick & Schmickís than their happy hour, Iím sure. But their happy hour is justifiably famous, and itís the only part of the restaurant Iíve personally experienced, so thatís what Iíll be focusing on here. No doubt there are other ... read more

  • Good Stuff: I should know....I worked there!

    Pros: Yummy!
    Cons: Parking

Summary: There are three McCormick and Schmick's Restaurants in Seattle. They all offer superb dining with different atmospheres. The old pub style charm of the 1st Ave location makes for a cozy dining experience. Professional wait staff with wonderful ... read more

  • Competent Seafood at Expense Account Prices

    Nov 29, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Above average sea food and selection
    Cons: A tad pricey

Summary: While in Washington on business recently I had the opportunity to visit the McCormick and Schmickís on K Street along with its sister restaurant, the M&S Grill, located at 13th and G. (Both are within a few blocks of the White House.) On the whole, ... read more

  • Top rate seafood and service

    Sep 5, 2000 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: great seafood
Cons: parking is not very plentiful

Summary: McCormick and Schmick is one of the best seafood restaurants in the Washington, DC area. The food is always fresh and expertly prepared. I especially like the crab cakes and my kids love the fish and chips. There really is something for everyone on the ... read more

  • Surprisingly Better Upscale Fish House

    Sep 2, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: You can stay on a strict Diet here
Cons: Loud, you have to get over being in Lawyer-ville

Summary: I'm not one for lawyer restaurants or upscale chainfood eateries. McCormick and Schmick's is both and frankly, I like it despite its first two strikes. Here are a couple of other factors that put the place at a disadvantage in my mind before ... read more

  • Happy Hour, Indeed!

    Jun 27, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: comfortable, excellent happy hour menu
Cons: they apparently will even let people like me in!

Summary: As I stumbled into the Green Tortoise youth hostel, directly after descending from the summit of Mt. Rainier, I mumbled to the proprietor "Where's the closest beer...and maybe some food would be good, too." I wasn't looking for much. Just ... read more

  • I worked there.

    Jun 13, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Freshness, Preparation, Service
    Cons: The wait. Make reservations

Summary: There is only one word that matters when enjoying seafood. That word is freshness, and McCormick and Schmicks does fresh seafood better than anyone else for several reasons. I should know, I worked there I have sold their seafood to guests for several ... read more

  • Happy Hour Hot Spot

    Apr 16, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: A+ Atmosphere and great place to meet for drinks and appetizers with friends.
Cons: I am not so impressed with their entrees, favorite dish is a non-seafood item, go figure.

Summary: I sit here anxiously awaiting the dinner bell (10 pm EST posting time) contemplating whether there will be time enough to go to the bathroom or what if I trip on the way and canít get back to post this review? So I sit here adding this because my nerves ... read more

  • Once I Knew A Fishy-Fish...

    Mar 11, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Everything
Cons: I can't find the time to visit enough as I would like

Summary: There are a few restaurants in this country that have more than one location; we usually refer to such eateries as "franchises," and, by and large, they suck rocks. Chain restaurants are greatly overrated, for the most part. Tony Roma's, ... read more

  • Forget Ray's and Ivar's, McCormick and Schmick's IS seafood!

    Feb 5, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Casual relaxed setting with World Class seafood
Cons: You'll NEVER eat a fish stick again

Summary: I'm a bit of a seafood snob. My grandfather was a commercial fisherman. My father used to bring us home fresh caught salmon that we would barbecue and devour. There is a big difference between seafood that is several days old (or God forbid, FROZEN) ... read more
