Pros: A handful of vaguely memorable songs. Mariah's a decent lyricist. Cons: Terrible, sterile contemporary R&B production. Even Mariah sounds bored sometimes.
Considering the fact that I've reviewed (I think) each of Mariah Carey's 10 prior studio albums, one would figure that I'm running about things to say about the woman. Big voice diva blah, blah, blah. Went from adult contemporary pop princess to hip-hop ...

Pros: MC can sing as usual, great tracks, more cohesive as a whole Cons: "Standing O" and "Ribbon" both are weaker moments.
Mariah Carey is definitely at a different place in her career than she was a few years ago. After the explosive and “phoenix from the ashes” comeback The Emancipation of Mimi she seemed to be on top of the world again. Mariah Carey fans ...

Pros: Album is full of catchy lyrics, top-notch production, and catchy tunes that will please. Cons: A bit too many interludes/reprises...she isn't Janet Jackson so enough of those!

Mariah Carey’s back with her 12th studio cd Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. This cd is a double cd. Disc one has the new songs on it. Disc two has four remixes of the lead single Obsessed. I wonder if Mariah really ...

Pros: H.A.T.E.U., insanely cohesive and well put together, smooth production, interludes/reprises, booklet Cons: intimidating length, a few skippable tracks, sometimes hard to discern lyrics
The media always seems to focus on the comeback angle of just about any popstar; if you've been away for a while, any significant period of time it seems, you're pretty much guaranteed a fair amount of press. I like to think that it's because in the ...

Remember when Mariah Carey was a pop star? A balladeer? An adult contemporary artist? With Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, Mariah Carey can finally be called a queen: The Queen of R&B. With 1995's inspiring Daydream and 1997's masterful ...
