Pros: Informative and very detailed accounts Cons: Some parts of the book tend to get repititive
'Tell me something I don’t know!'
That’s the first thing that came to my mind as I saw the title in the bookstore. On reading the back cover of the book, I didn’t find anything that would make me want to buy the book, so I passed.
Pros: Nice heft for throwing at spiders on the wall. Cons: Everything between the front and back cover.
Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus by John Gray, Ph.D. is supposed to be a guide for improving communications between men and women. While I feel a bit like a salmon heading home to spawn, I am going to say that I do not like this book. I...
This book is a must for all in a relationship, be it marriage, engagement, or high school romance. My wife and I will have both our boys read this book before they get seriously involved with anyone.
Pros: Help for the Truly Clueless Cons: Gimmicky, smarmy, and full of cr*p
I found this book interesting because, you see, my mother is from Venus and my father is from Mars, and that means I am half-Martian and half-Venusian.
This really explains a lot, actually, like why I withdraw when I’m feeling too close...
Pros: better relationships Cons: none that i can think of.
This book changed my life. The allegory of men and women being from different planets provides a foundation for the reader to comprehend the motives and intentions behind common behaviors of the opposite sex. Dr. Gray is witty, intelligent, and...
Pros: Food for thought on relationships, I found his opinions to be right-on in most cases Cons: Ingratiating. Writing style is bland and repetitive
I thought this book was right-on in most cases. As with everything, there are exceptions. So...why only 3 stars? I think Gray's editor fell asleep on the job.
Gray's basic premise is that women operate in "waves" emotionally....
What a waste of time! I read this book and I found myself getting so upset that I could not finish it. I have not read Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars, but this offspring was not worth the five bucks I spent on it.
I don't know how this book got put into such a screwed up category, but I'll give my opinion on it anyway. If you are in a relationship, get this book! Get it now. Don't think about getting it later. Don't ask your friends about it. Wake up. Put your...
Pros: none that I can discern Cons: an insult to the realists who believe a successful relationship is based on mutual respect
Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus is the most ridiculous piece of male-propagated, sexist drivel I have ever read. Admittedly, I was so horrified by John Gray’s implications that women should do whatever is necessary to please their men that I...
Once upon a time, Martians and Venusians met, fell in love, and had happy relationships together because they respected and accepted their differences...More at HotBookSale
