Great tires and worth the money
by hothursm ,Jul 01 '07
Pros: comfort and smooth driving, excellent handling and control on the roads.
Cons: more expensive but worth the cost.
I replaced the dealer tires for my Ford Escape with Michelin Cross Terrain. Man, what a difference that made. The SUV used to be bumpy and stiff on the roads. No more. Michelin rides are smooth, excellent handling and comfortable ride. I look forward to driving now. I have not driven in wet and snow condition yet. But I heard it is all season and performs well in all weather. Yes, the tires are expensive at $150 a pop, but it is worth it. Don't skimp on your next tire purchase, go for the best and give yourself a comfy ride.

Outstanding tread wear ! 130,000 Miles !
by rubymac ,Jun 15 '07
Pros: TREAD WEAR !-Handling-Performance-Noise Level-Very Dependable-Value
Cons: None
I purchased a set of Michelin X-Terrain SUV (P245-60-R16) for my Ford Escape back in 2003. I'm on the road for a living in Southern New England and I can't describe how impressed I am with this brand of tire. Great ALL WEATHER performance , very low noise level and most importantly and impressively , I got 130,000 miles out of them!!! Almost an unheard of number of miles considering I managed only 32,000 miles wear from the Firestone Wilderness (Junk) tires that came stock with the vehicle.

So impressed was I , that I just purchased a brand new set ! I expect the same unmatched quality , performance , value ($50.00 rebate) and longevity from the new ones.

Just a GREAT TIRE for an SUV.

The Best SUV Tire
by nucarpt ,Mar 24 '07
Pros: Smooth, Quiet, long lasting
Cons: Expensive
I put the Cross Terrains on my Escalade at 6500 miles. I now have 48000 miles and the tires still seem to have a full tread! I've owned a lot of SUV's and have had an assortment of tires, but the Cross Terrain is by leaps and bounds, better than any other tire. They're quiet and smooth. They do great in wet pavement as well as in snow. I am now going to put them on my wife's 2004 4Runner. They're worth the extra money.

Four on a Cherokee
by cinf45 ,Feb 05 '05
Pros: The tires "feel" better, in terms of road feel.
Cons: Pricey
Just put 4 Cross Terrains on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. There is a significant difference between the new tires and the factory supplied Wranglers. The Michelins are quieter, a better ride, and "feel" better. We got about 49K miles on the originals, and they had a "rougher" ride.

Very quite, smooth and good traction
by samsudin ,Jan 22 '06
Pros: Quite and smooth driving
Cons: Expensive
After a long research and reading review, I decided to go for the Michelin® Cross Terrain. Both Costco and Sears were having promotions but decided to go with Sears at $147 plus installation and alignment fees. It was worth the investment, the tire is very quite and very smooth. It bring back the fun of driving my Lexus RX300. Very expensive as compare to other models but you pay for the performance and comfort.

Excellent Tire on 2000 Jeep Cherokee Limited
by gelandrum ,Sep 14 '06
Pros: Excellent ride, handling, and response.
Cons: None.
I just replaced the Cooper Discover A/T on my 2000 Cherokee after they only ran 28,000 miles. The Michelin's ride improvement was even noticed by my wife - who normally can't tell the difference between a junker and a limo. I'm really excited by the Cross Terrains and hope to update this review in a couple of years when I have 30,000 miles on them. Highly recommended.

First Pair
by angeloa278 ,Nov 14 '03
Pros: Great tire makes my Explorer handle exceptional well. Even wife notices difference.
Cons: From what I heard pricey I will be sticking with them
These tires came standard on my new 2003 Ford Explorer and handle great. The ride is so much more comfortable than the Goodyears I had on my previous Explorer. The floating feeling I use to have has turned into great feel and control of the road.

Michelin Cross Terrain SUV truck Tire
by caryralls ,Aug 17 '04
Pros: Ultra smooth and quiet ride. Great traction on dry pavement, and wet pavement.
Cons: Price. These tires are expensive but you pay for what you get.
Very good tire. Mine just finally wore out on my 2000 F-150 after 75,000 miles of mainly highway driving. These tires ride extremely quiet and smooth almost like you are on a cloud. They cost a fortune ($150 per tire) but I thought they were worth it. Sadly, I am getting Goodyears put on my truck since it is a company vehicle and now we have a national account with Goodyear. Hopefully they will rid ehalf as good as the Michelins but I doubt it because the Goodyears on my Jeep Scrambler were lousy.

Great Suburban tires
by biblrytr ,Feb 07 '05
Pros: Quiet, good wet and dry traction, good warranty.
Cons: None. The quality justifies the extra cost.
My 2001 Suburban was purchased used with about 20,000 miles on the odometer. From the very first drive, I loved the truck and hated the stock Firestone tires. Too much road noise, and I knew (from driving other Suburbans) that it was the tires and not the truck.

Just purchased the Cross Terrain tires at Costco a few weeks ago, and the difference is amazing. They're quieter at all speeds, which was my primary concern. To my surprise, wet traction is also much better. Turning right at the stop sign used to bring a touch of inside-rear wheelspin on rainy days, even with fairly light throttle. Now the truck can scoot around the corner safely without wheelspin or slowing down cross traffic.

But again, my primary concern was getting a top-quality tire with a quieter ride. My wife took the Suburban into Costco for me, and even she noticed how much nicer the truck's ride was with the new tires.

Michelin Cross Terrain P265/70R16
by mjmd ,Dec 07 '03
Pros: Perfect Ride
Cons: Cost
I had these tires installed prior to buying a 2003 Tundra. The tires are a little slippery with rain. All tires are slippery without friction. Rotation with every other oil change. Abnormal driving conditions. Kissing curbs and some rough road pothole uneven road crown, and poor bridge transitions. 21,000 miles and wear is on the nose of a Lincoln penny. Very satisfied with all performance of this tire. The truck ride is equal to a luxury vehicle. My Wife is very pleased, and she is a road safety critic.

Great handling, quiet tires for 1999 ML 320
by sfm_home ,Sep 15 '07
Pros: handling, low noise, long wear, have not required adding air
Cons: cost, but worth every penny to me
I replaced the stock Dunlops at 35,000 with these Michelins in Oct 2001. They are much superior in handling and road noise. With 40,000 mostly freeway miles in So Cal and Arizona and never having an alignment, I'm just now noticing a little rear wheel wear. I've driven in plenty of dirt near Sedona, but done no true off-roading. I expect another 10,000 from them. They have been excellent in all respects. They exceed the Pirelli Scorpions I used on my 1992 Pathfinder.

Michelin Cross Terrain SUV Tires on an ML320
by horse407 ,Apr 06 '04
Pros: Quiet, comfortable riding tire. Michelin brand name.
Cons: Very poor tread life compared to Michelin's promise (warranty). Poor overall value as a result.
Installed on 2000 ML320 (Mercedes-Benz SUV). Good comfortable ride, low noise level, but very poor expected tread life compared to Michelin's 65,000 mile tread-wear warranty. Went to Michelin's because of the promise (Michelin's written promise) of much longer tread life after my 2nd set of Dunlop Grandtrek TG35s, getting 33-35k miles on each set of Dunlops. Best expectation on the Michelins is possibly 40k miles (18% better tread-wear than Dunlop but at 70% higher price - $149 per tire compared to $90 for the Dunlops). And wear on the Michelins is extremely sensitive to alignment on an ML320; two rear tires wore out in about 18k miles even after a 4-wheel alignment.

worth every penny!!!
by edster92 ,May 01 '04
Pros: Amazingly quiet, smooth, road grip during turns
Cons: Cost, but you get what you pay for
When I replaced the OEM General Grabbers on my 2001 Nissan Frontier King Cab with these tires at 50,000 miles I thought I was driving a different truck! Road tire noise practically disappeared, the ride was much smoother, and I could take turns and curves at higher speeds with zero skidding, even on wet roads.

Now, at just over 13,000 miles later, I only wish I had replaced the OEM tires a lot earlier. These Michelins have exceeded my expectations in every category, and they look great, too---the tire has a much rounder side shape, and the "stay black" rubber really does stay black...the General Grabbers very quickly fade into dusty gray even after applying tire shine sprays.

Sure they cost about 50% more than other major brands, but for the extra comfort and safer handling, it's more than worth it. Paid $110 each at NTB, installed.

Good Ride - POOR WEAR
by tirewear ,Sep 25 '03
Pros: Good ride and fair traction
Cons: POOR WEAR - ONLY 22K Miles before replacement
Bought the Michelin Cross Terrain Tire for my Expedition. The ride is very good but I was very dissappointed with the wear. It is NOT wear rated correctly. I only got 22K miles before they required replacement. For a $190 tire, this is NOT A GOOD VALUE. My previous Firestones lasted 65K with tread 'left over'.

Michelin should review the wear rating.

Belt Separation Problem
by nnsa ,Feb 13 '06
Pros: Decent tires.
Cons: Poor quality/wear (as stated above).
Within the last year and a half I've had to replace two of these tires. Both from belt separation when they have approximately 1/3 the tread depth left on them. I am meticulous with vehicle maintenance and check the tire pressure often. Last year it was a rear tire and this year it's a front tire. They are installed on a 2000 Expedition with no hard driving. They are nice quiet tires and have decent grip in the winter but the price sure goes up when you have to replace a pair (I'd hate to replace just one tire and have the other side a different diameter due to the wear)that should have lasted longer. I only put about 18,000 km on them per year.
