STAY AWAY!!!
by gujumafia1 ,Aug 16 '04
Pros: NONE
Cons: ALL OF THE ABOVE
These tires COMPLETELY fell apart form the sidewall on the highway within 500 MILES (YES thats NOT a typo!) of buying the 2004 Lexus GX470 with the tires on it BRAND NEW!! Luckily it was the rear tire and we managed to slow it down after vigorously losing control. Thank god it wasn't the front tire, who knows what would have happened.

If you want to see what it looked like, go here and look for yourself!

Excellent tire, very comfortable, durable, low noise.
by manolo_one ,Jun 15 '05
Pros: Comfort, noise.
Cons: None
Changed OEM tires over 2 years ago in my Lexus RX300 and installed the Cross Terrains. So far I am extremely happy with them. Over 45K miles on them and on their way to the 60K advertised level.

True Road Warriors
by iamsteve ,Mar 03 '04
Pros: Excellent feel, great handling, no noise.
Cons: Might be a little pricey but worth it.
These tires have carried my 99' GMC Jimmy 4x4 in 115 degree July heat to Oklahoma and back (San Diego), through the Anza-Borrego sand, rocks and washes, across the wasteland between Bullhead City and Oatman, and now the ice, rain and snow of Utah Mountain roads in February. Never missed a beat or a step, period. Great feel to drive on any surface. 4 wheel drive or 2, they consistantly make the driver feel in control. Am buying same tires next weekend for my Jeep Cherokee. Oh yeah!

Good news bad news
by alr213 ,Mar 04 '04
Pros: Wonderful ride.
Cons: Poor wear, poor value
These tires came standard on my 2001 Acura MDX. Great ride, normal handling. The vehicle just turned over 40,000 miles and the tires need to be replaced already (this with religious rotations and pressure checks). Agree with other posters: Michelin needs to re-evaluate the wear rating. No way these last for 65,000. A good tire while it lasts, but that good ride is pricey.

Rough & No Wet Traction Ford Ranger
by lizabet1 ,Oct 07 '03
Pros: None!
Cons: Rough Riding; No Traction wet pavement
These tires were terrible on my 2000 Ford Ranger ext cab truck! I purchased them at Sears for 120.00 per tire + tax. They were very rough riding and had almost no traction on wet pavement. After a long phone call to Sears, they replaced all 4 with Michelin XC LT4 - they are great, so much better than the Cross Terrains. The Cross Terrains may be ok for heavier vehicles but not for me and my Ranger!"

Michelin X Terrain Tires, Dissappointed in mileage
by paulmckee ,Apr 27 '05
Pros: Quiet, smooth highway ride, predictable, and good handling in all weather.
Cons: Very disappointed in overall mileage.
Replaced the OEM Uniroyal Laredo's with a set of X Terrains on my '01 Bravada AWD. Rides is slightly stiffer then the Uniroyals but overall an exceptionally smooth highway tire. Reasonably secure handling in rain and light snow (Upstate SC) and good for light-moderate off road situations (red clay logging roads and steep, slick boat ramps). My driving style is moderate, 70/30 highway/city. Maintained air pressure @35psi with reg. 6-7K rotation, but at 35K I only have 4/32 tread left. Sadly, no were near the 65K warranty. These were pricey tires to only last 35K. I was very surprised as I prev. experienced 80-90K on two sets of Mich. LTX M&S. These are def. NOT the same tires as the LTX.

Luxury Truck Tires
by jvee ,Sep 24 '04
Pros: Extremely Smooth and Quite Ride
Cons: Not an Agressive Snow Tire
About a year ago I read reviews on the Michelin Cross Terrain tires here on epinions. I want to thank others for giving their honest opinions, and because of that I purchased the tires. My first good feeling about my purchase was when the service manager looked over at the tires and said who ordered the Cross Terrain tires, I walked up and he said to me in a quite voice, you dog, these are great tires.

After having driven them for almost a year in Minnesota where their are four seasons, and after having several different sets of tires on two different trucks, I will have to say these are the Best driving tires I've owned. They are extremely smooth and quite which I love, they handle well on dry and wet pavement, ( blacktop and concrete), and do OK in the snow. I do not think that they are expensive considering the fact in which they handle my 35,000.00 vehicle and my families lives. Because they handle the road so well they probably save me repair expenses.

89,000 miles plus
by trscher ,Nov 08 '08
Pros: Quality and endurance
Cons: Pricey...but worth it!
Finally replaced our original set of tires on our Oldsmobile Bravada today.  The odometer read 89,801 so our choice was an easy one...replace with the same tires that were on the car when we bought it from the dealer - Michelin Cross Terrains.   They're the best!

BTW...the tire service center at Costco is GREAT!

Crap Tires!!!!
by mommy2parisnjj ,Nov 17 '08
Pros: none!
Cons: The Tires Period!
We got these tires on our 2007 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 and after 25K miles the rear tires went COMPLETELY BALD, Michelin could care less and we had to buy two new tires for our leased vehicles.  ($190 per tire) well here we are 37K miles and the other two tires are bald and our tires we previously bought with only 12K miles on them are going bald.  I am sooooo frustrated.  My truck cannot be safely driven so its sits in my driveway.  Thats BS.  Michelin could care less, they will only maybe cover half of the cost for new tires.  I shouldnt have to pay for anything, I feel I have already had to pay.  Do your research before buying these tires, there are many others like me with the same problems with the Cross Terrains.  Rip Offs!!!!!!

X terrain SUV tires have a short life
by robertsk ,Oct 08 '07
Pros: Good looks, handling and ride
Cons: Wore out in 23K and expensive
I loved the look, feel and handling of these tires on my Grand Cherokee, however I only got 23K and the tires are now worn out. Vehicle was city driven by my wife on pavement. Very disappointed as they were very expensive tires.
