Pros: Excellent handling and running characteristics. Quiet and holds its shape while in emergency maneuvers. Cons: For the price of $120 each - NONE
Only three years and 46,000 miles were on the 2005 Camry in May 2008; when the Continental Tires installed for Hertz were showing severe wear and tear. It was almost a year short of the Continental Tire Warranty. The Camry is a forgiving car and handling ...
Pros: Unbelievable grip in dry and wet; Unbelievable warranty Cons: Unbelievable price; road noise and ride
Let's get something cleared up right from the beginning: I am not a guy who gets excited about tires. To me, buying new tires falls entirely within the realm of "necessary evil." Thus, when it came time to re-shoe my 2002 Maxima SE, I went to my local ...
I am running these tires on a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. The initiation trip was 5,000+ miles in 7 days. Through hot desert, dirt mountain logging roads, snowy mountain passes, horrendous rain storms. I passed several cars in ditches, but my car felt like ...
Pros: Awesome performance. Provided a totally different driving experience that was pleasurable and comforting. Cons: Slightly noisier. Bumps on the road not absorbed as Goodyear Comfortreads.
I just replaced my almost new Goodyear Comfortreads with Michelin Hydroedge tires on 5/2008. After driving for 2000 miles on the Hydroedge, here is my experience. Although the Comfortreads were more quiet on the road, absorbing many of the road bumps, ...
Pros: Firm Ride and Control that improves the handling of your ride. Cons: Can be expensive, but worth it. Might be noisy on some vehicles.
I purchased the Michelin HydroEdge tires to replace the poorer quality Original Equipment Tires (OEM) that came on my 2007 Nissan Versa. Let there be no mistake, the ride difference is very remarkable. A problem I had observed with the OEM tires was ...
Pros: Great wet and dry traction Cons: Somewhat noisy, average snow traction, expensive
I have a 1997 Honda Odyssey, which uses a 205/65R15 tire size. I currently have about 7,000 miles on them (just did the first rotation in fact). I'm a fairly aggressive driver (not in terms of raw speed, but taking turns).I just made it home from ...
Pros: Handled very well under dry & wet conditions when originally purchased. Cons: Performance declining after 15,000 miles.
I purchased this for my 2001 Toyota Corolla CE (P185/65R14) to replace worn OEM Goodyear Integrity (@ 42K mi). Was sliding on wet turns and wheels spun on dry pavement (before tread markers). The Michelin HydroEdge tires performed very well when ...
If you care about noise don't buy these tires !!! by mcolgan ,Oct 14 '06
Pros: Mean looking pattern. Long wearing. Cons: Extremely loud road noise. Avoid if you have a quiet car.
I bought these tires for my Honda Accord since I saw them advertised on TV. They were quite expensive so I thought that I would have no problems. Right off the lot I noticed how noisy they were but I thought that it was due to the labels and that they would eventually wear off. A few weeks later the noise was still there and I thought that I would get used to it. Well I didn't. I heard it every time I drove the car. I went back to the seller and he checked the balance. It was OK so he suggested that I might have a wheel bearing problem. Now I'm sure that I was not the first person to complain and he must have known what the problem was. By the time that I couldn't stand it any more the 30 day return period was long over so they gave me about half what I paid for them in trade for quieter tires. I called Michelin service dept but they weren't much help either.

Pros: Excellent wet handling when new. Potentially long life if you are lucky (or deaf!). Cons: Poor wear, hard to balance and horrible noise. No weather advantage once worn in.
I am so happy to finally be rid of these noisy, shaky troublesome tires!
For some reason my HydroEdge's would not hold a balance and badly scalloped despite frequent (subtle) alignments. At only about 35,000 miles of use, I could not stand the noise anymore. After some haggling by my dealer, Michelin agreed to take them back and give me a 30% credit towards replacement tires. I chose Harmony's and am hoping for a happier experience.
When new, the noise was not excessive and the wet handling was amazing. Slowly over the time I had them, the noise and shaking got worse despite many trips to the dealer for re-balancing and re-alignment. I have to say that by the end, resistance to hydroplaning was no better than average tires (7.5 to 9/32 tread depth remaining).
I have heard that certain types of suspensions combined with mostly highway travel do not mix well with these tires. I drive a 2004 Toyota Prius and do 80% highway travel.
Pros: Safety, comfort, quiet, longevity. Cons: Price ($406.00 on sale!!!)
Put them on 1999 Dodge Stratus sedan with 40k miles after the factory Michelins were nearing their life's end. Wife commutes to work with the car, a 4 cylinder, 5-speed which she loves. The tires are silent, are unbelievable in the rain with no trace of hydroplaning even in the deep asphalt ruts in the right lane on the highway at posted limits. On dry pavement show no tendency to squeal when I push the car into a corner on the dry far harder than my wife ever would. What more could anyone ask for: Great fuel mileage, great cornering, amazing in the wet and - so far - much, much better than expected on snow and ice although looking at the tread had me looking at pure winter tires.
I don't know how Michelin did it, but they did.
Pros: The ride and handling was good, in the 300+ miles I put on them. Cons: Very disappointed in the vibration which became noticeable at 65 mph and up.
I bought a set of Michelin HydoEdge tires and had a vibration problem. I took them back to the store for rebalance, after which the vibration was still there. I took my car back again, but they balked saying that they wanted my auto dealer to check the car for other problems. I took the car to my dealer who spent three hours checking everything out including the tires. They took the tires off the car and rebalanced, but the vibration did not go away. They then rearranged the tires (front to back) which improved the vibration slightly. I then took my car back to the tire store with the written report from my dealer. They reluctantly exchanged my tires for a set of Michelin Agility tires. I now have no vibration! The dealer told me that they frequently have this kind of problem with water tread design like that of the HydoEdge and of another manufacturer with a similar design.
Pros: excellent handling. Cons: price @ $ 120 each.
very low noise, great traction on wet and dry pavements. excellent at 100 mph. no snow yet. 1000 mi. great rating. 6/10/2009...now 115,000 miles on tires and replacing with same. one of the best tires i have ever owned especially in wet weather and snow. traction did fade with age, should have replaced at 100,00 mile mark. new tire cost still about $450.00 at discount tires.
Pros: Great wet traction & handling Cons: Vibration, rough ride
I don't buy anything but Michelin tires. Until buying the HydroEdge, I had been disappointed in only one previous set of Michelins (wore out in about 35,000 miles!). The performance of the HydroEdge tires on my 2001 Toyota Avalon (size 215/60/16) was nothing short of awful. At speeds of 65-75 mph, they vibrated terribly. Took the car back to the dealer and had all four rebalanced and rotated; no change. Replaced the two front tires which helped some, and I mean just "some"; however, the vibration in the rear remained unchanged. Since the tires had been mounted and used less than 30 days, the dealer had no problem in replacing them with a proven performer, the "Harmony". This particular tire dealer went on to tell me that they were receiving a lot of complaints about HydroEdge tires.
I've bought two sets and going for my third by juliesig ,Aug 27 '05
Pros: Excellent handling, safety, comfort, and quiet ride. Cons: A little more expensive than mediocre tires, but well worth the difference.
Michelin HydroEdge is a great combination of comfort and safety. I bought them for my teenage son's 2003 Chevy Malibu because I wanted him to have very good traction in bad weather. We also noticed that they made the car ride more comfortably and quietly. I like them so much that when my 98 Ford Windstar's tires were wearing out, I replaced them with HydroEdge also. It improved the ride of the minivan, and I never have any trouble stopping and handling on wet roads. I just traded my Windstar in today on a new Grand Prix, and I'm thinking of replacing the brand new Goodyears on the Grand Prix with HydroEdge, or Michelin Pilot Sport.
