  • Golden Rubber

    Oct 15, 2006 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Unbelievable grip in dry and wet; Unbelievable warranty
Cons: Unbelievable price; road noise and ride

Summary: Let's get something cleared up right from the beginning: I am not a guy who gets excited about tires. To me, buying new tires falls entirely within the realm of "necessary evil." Thus, when it came time to re-shoe my 2002 Maxima SE, I went to my local ... read more

    Oct 28, 2010 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: Excellent on wet pavement.
Cons: Very noisy as it worn out.

Summary: At first, I love these tires.  They performed well up to about 15k to 20k.  During rainy season, these tires out perform any other tires that I had previously own.  I put them on my Sienna minivan and love how they hug those winding ... read more

  • Will The HydroEdge Green Fix The Wearing Problem? We'll Have To Wait And See!

    Aug 9, 2010 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Extremely good traction no matter how hard it's raining. Better mileage with new Green version.
Cons: Tires get very noisy as they wear. Treadwear not good on some cars. Useless warranty.

Summary: If you want a top rain tire, that will stick to the road no matter how much rain is falling and how fast you are driving, and you don't care about tire noise and treadwear, then this is the tire to get. I've had these tires on my 1998 Dodge ... read more

  • Worth putting up with the noise for the traction

    May 16, 2009 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Great wet and dry traction
Cons: Somewhat noisy, poor snow traction, expensive

Summary: I have a 1997 Honda Odyssey, which uses a 205/65R15 tire size. I currently have about 7,000 miles on them (just did the first rotation in fact). I'm a fairly aggressive driver (not in terms of raw speed, but taking turns).I just made it home from ... read more

  • Hydroedge performance

    May 29, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Awesome performance. Provided a totally different driving experience that was pleasurable and comforting.
Cons: Slightly noisier. Bumps on the road not absorbed as Goodyear Comfortreads.

Summary: I just replaced my almost new Goodyear Comfortreads with Michelin Hydroedge tires on 5/2008. After driving for 2000 miles on the Hydroedge, here is my experience. Although the Comfortreads were more quiet on the road, absorbing many of the road bumps, ... read more

Pros: Handled very well under dry & wet conditions when originally purchased.
Cons: Performance declining after 15,000 miles.

Summary: I purchased this for my 2001 Toyota Corolla CE (P185/65R14) to replace worn OEM Goodyear Integrity (@ 42K mi). Was sliding on wet turns and wheels spun on dry pavement (before tread markers). The Michelin HydroEdge tires performed very well when ... read more

  • Wet and Dry Handling and Traction Wrapped into One

    Jul 7, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Firm Ride and Control that improves the handling of your ride.
Cons: Can be expensive, but worth it. Might be noisy on some vehicles.

Summary: I purchased the Michelin HydroEdge tires to replace the poorer quality Original Equipment Tires (OEM) that came on my 2007 Nissan Versa. Let there be no mistake, the ride difference is very remarkable. A problem I had observed with the OEM tires was ... read more

Pros: Amazing traction, INSANELY Excellent tread wear
    Cons: $$$, $90+ / Tire

Summary: I am running these tires on a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. The initiation trip was 5,000+ miles in 7 days. Through hot desert, dirt mountain logging roads, snowy mountain passes, horrendous rain storms. I passed several cars in ditches, but my car felt like ... read more

    Pros: None
Cons: I would not recommend this tire on noise alone.

Summary: I don't care how good this tire is - this tire is too noisy!  It was good/quite for about 500 miles and then developed this horrible drone - sounds like a BFG Mud Terrain tire on our Ford Freestyle.  I would not recommend this tire on noise ... read more

Pros: Great on wet pavement when new, not so sure now.
Cons: Noise, rough ride, useless in mud.

Summary: I have used only Michelin tires for over 30 years and I will continue to use them but the Hydroedges have not worked out on my Honda Odyssey van.  I have had the tires for a couple of years, they were fine at first but the noise and rough ride are ... read more

Pros: Solid-feeling interface with the road.
    Cons: None so far.

Summary: I put these on my 2000 Honda Odyssey at 70,000 miles, just after an RCMP tire check stop in British Columbia where I was warned my tires were "barely legal." They are no noisier than the old tires and the handling has improved dramatically - I'm seeing ... read more

Pros: Will buy Hydroedges again, and as long as they make them.
Cons: Price.  Are they made in USA?

Summary: On Oct 18 2004 I bought 4  P215/55R16 91T's for my 2001 PT Cruiser and 4 years and 80,000 miles later, they're doing great, especially being driven in and out of Washington DC's bumpy roads.  I take long road trips through PA and OH, often in ... read more

Summary: I just purchased a set of HydroEdge tires for our 06 Mustang convertible. The factory tires (Traction TA's) were noisy and not so good in the rain. It is like driving a different car! So quiet! Smooth, great in the rain, and did I mention quiet? I have ... read more

Pros: Outstanding wet weather capability, Michelin quality
    Cons: A little noisy

Summary: Put these on my 2005 Malibu whenever the dealer was out of the Harmony and I had to have something for a long trip. I drive about 5,000 miles per month, and had put 80,000 on the Harmony tires. My first impression of the Hydro was not as good as the ... read more

  • It was like being followed by a Helicopter!

    Jul 22, 2007 by

Pros: Excellent wet handling when new. Potentially long life if you are lucky (or deaf!).
Cons: Poor wear, hard to balance and horrible noise. No weather advantage once worn in.

Summary: I am so happy to finally be rid of these noisy, shaky troublesome tires! For some reason my HydroEdge's would not hold a balance and badly scalloped despite frequent (subtle) alignments. At only about 35,000 miles of use, I could not stand the noise ... read more

Pros: Great wet traction & handling
    Cons: Vibration, rough ride

Summary: I don't buy anything but Michelin tires. Until buying the HydroEdge, I had been disappointed in only one previous set of Michelins (wore out in about 35,000 miles!). The performance of the HydroEdge tires on my 2001 Toyota Avalon (size 215/60/16) was ... read more
