Pros: Good handling on dry and wet pavement. Comfortable ride for a sport tire. Cons: Very expensive.
These tires came stock with my recently purchased 2004 Acura RSX. In the past several months, Ive put about six thousand miles of use on them, in winter, spring and summer, in various kinds of weather and on every road imaginable. The ...
Pros: performance, longevity (and they look cool too if that matters to you) Cons: PRICE!!!
First off the picture of the tire here looks nothing like the HX MXM4's I had, or that are displayed at Discount Tire's website- so I can only assume the we all go the name right and are talking about the same tire here. Mine came from the factory on ...
Pros: None Cons: Squeal and more squeal!!
Poor handling - wet and dry.
My last car was a VW Passat GLX that I bought a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's for... and they were great tires - so when I moved to a 2004 Acura RSX my thought would be that it had Michelin Pilots - no brainer for tires. Turns out "no brains" was ...
Pros: Good treadlife, nice sidewall Cons: Noisy, traction wet and dry, ride, price
I have an 06 VW GLI and when I was looking for the car I was also paying attention to the tires that came with it. It either came with ContiProContacts or these Michelin Pilots...being that we had great experience in the past with Michelin I made sure ...
Pros: Handling, Low noise, ride quality, ride quality and ride quality! Cons: Quality is not inexpensive.
These tires are all about ride quality. There are tires that "perform" better and cost less but you will sacrifice something. That something is ride quality. If you are looking for a tire that will drive as smooth as your car should ride then spend ...
Pros: great traction, quiet, nice ride Cons: they don't cook me dinner!
I just paid 161 bucks at discount tire, and so far I am happy with these on my 2002 acura tl type s I will update later after i get the opportunity (when wife not in car) to beat the tar out of them. I am known for pushing the car to the limit when the ...
OE on 2002 RSX Type-S: I can't say these are the worst tires I've ever owned (the worst ones are the michelins that came on my Honda Civic!)... but for the amount of money I paid for my car, these tires are a joke. Dry handling's okay... until you have to have to do a hard turn! These tires will squeal if I look at them wrong. They spin and squeal too much from hard launches as well. The wet traction is mediocre. The two good points for this tire is the noise/comfort is good amd I've had these on for two brutal winters, and they are surprisingly good in the snow! When I found out how much the same replacement tire costed, all I could do was laugh. Forget Michelins unless you're gonna spend the big bucks
I just got these (245/45/R17) slapped on my Mercedes W211 (E class) to replace the Pilot MXV4's that came with it and I noticed a difference right away in both comfort and handling. Clearly this is a superior tire over all to the venerable MXV series. I can rest assured that it's best in class, as it's a Michelin.
I highly recommend this tire as a replacement tire for anyone who wants a balance of performance and comfort.
I understand it's snow/wet traction leaves something to be desired, however I live in Arizona and that's not an issue.
Pros: They are round, rubber, and hold air. Cons: Entirely too expensive
These tires came OE on my 2005 Mazda6 and while I got 32k miles out of mine, I will not be buying another set of them. Their dry handling and traction is good, but their performance in the rain leaves some room for improvement. These tires are also horrible in the snow. They are a fair tire but for the money you can do MUCH better.
Update: I swapped these out temporarily with a set of used Dunlop Sport Maxx tires and WOW! I just thought the road inside of the 6 was the car, but now know most of it was from these noisy Michelins.
This is a terrible tire for a Honda Accord by jeffwashere ,May 11 '07
Pros: none Cons: bad traction, bad tread design, terrible wear life, not comfortable to ride on,
I have five cars at the moment, and my wife and I each drive about 30,000 each year, plus I have two kids that drive, so I've purchased many tires over the past 20 years. These tires are some of the worst I've seen. I bought a new 2007 Honda Accord EX, top of the line, and these Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tires were on the car. I have about 7000 miles on them in 4 months, and I have not felt safe with these tires at any time, even on dry roads. I've used them through an easy winter in middle Ohio, and a fairly rainy spring, and they have no traction at all. The ride feel is terrible, they are almost worn out already, and one of them developed a bubble at about 2000 miles that is clearly a defect. I can't believe Honda allows these tires to be put on their premier vehicle.
Pros: quiet, seem to wear well Cons: not for "spirited" driving, expensive
These came on our VW Passat station wagon and they are quiet and provide a comfortable ride. Traction and handling or ok for commuting but they are nowhere near the level of a high performance summer tire. I haven't had the chance to try them in snow because it almost never snows where we live. I will definitely replace them with something else when they wear out, probably a higher performance tire like the Toyo T1-S that is about $50 cheaper in 225/45-17 size.
2003 Mazda6 Sport. Completed 50,000 miles in a little over 2 years on these tires. Tires behaved themselves well in all conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold). Not an aggressive driver very often but these tires hold the road well. Rotated them every 10K miles, so wear was very even. Pulled them with prior to reaching wear indicators.
