Pros: Flattering, fast, clarity, moves with you as you walk Cons: I'll let you know...
Long gone are the days of web cams being for just creepy people looking to show off to other creepy people on the net! They are now being used every day on places like YouTube and MySpace for people of all ages, backgrounds, shapes and sizes and are ...
Pros: You can extract the huge driver package on your own. Good low-light pickup. Cons: You have to download the whole thing even if you want just one thing inside.
I try to write my reviews so as to cover ground NOT covered by previous reviewers, rather than re-inventing the wheel. There are a LOT of reviews on this webcam on the net, even if that is not reflected here (i.e. try Amazon). In my research, I ...
Pros: Flexible mounting, fast frame rate, decent video quality Cons: Low microphone volume, bloated software package, poor support, almost no documentation, potential security problems
The Lifecam VX-3000 is functional basic webcam, somewhat let down by a weak microphone and a bloated software package that could use some work. It’s worth the $20 I paid for it, but I think it's overpriced at anything near the full retail ...
Pros: Excellent performance and ease of setup Cons: none
Introduction- Having recently purchased a budget laptop for my daughter i have been looking at purchasing a webcam for her so she could speak to her nan and grandad who have rcently moved away.My first instinct was to purchase a cheaply priced model off ...
Pros: Easy to set up and navigate. Cons: None that I can think of.
Web cams are a lot of fun, so of course I had to try this one out. It’s fun to share photos with other people online and to talk with them as well. Web cams can help you do all of that including helping you find a date! Go figure! Definitely worth ...
Pros: Easy install, easy set up, great picture quality. Cons: None so far.
Just bought this camera at Comp USA for under $30 after rebate today and installed it in minutes. Easy install, easy set up, good picture quality even in darker environment. Software lets you adjust brightness, hue etc. Would highly recommend.
'LifeCam' is probably a misnomer... by redfield2 ,Aug 12 '08
Pros: None that I can really suggest. Cons: Cheap build, light, flimsy, very hard to hook on to a laptop.
Having read an excellent and lengthy review about this product by another contributor, I now realise that you need to have a bit of computer 'nouse' in order to use this cam. I bought one three weeks ago and still haven't been able to install it correctly on my Vista-based laptop (yes, I've followed all the instructions...)Worse still, since attempting to install LifeCam my Skype application has crashed miserably (that was why I bought the cam in the first place - to chat with, and see, my daughter and grandson). It seems to want me to install Windows Live Messenger all the time, so being a reasonable chap, I tried to comply; only to find that there were no activation codes to go with the download. So now, three weeks later, I'm £25 the poorer and have lost my (free) Skype to boot!
Pros: Ease of use. Cons: Volume controls take a little bit of time to adjust.
First experience with webcams so I can't really compare to anything else. However, it was easy to install and pretty easy to figure out the settings. I don't think I paid much more than $40 and it's been well worth it to see distant family, etc. Other than some echo problems from time to time (I think that's a function of my speakers and their settings), it's been great.
Didn't work with Windows 2000 by dj_in_portland ,Dec 16 '07
Pros: Easy to install. You don't have to gnaw through the packaging like many products. Cons: Won't work with Windows 2000. Hard to find that information on the package.
I bought this to use with my laptop. My laptop has Windows 2000 and doesn't have enough horsepower to run XP. This camera won't work without XP.
The fine print on the box says: "For a Windows Based PC."
The really fine print says: Windows XP Pro, Media Center Edition/Tablet PC.
This is something that they could have made more clear on the package. You have to really struggle to see the text. It's on the bottom of the box. Bring your magnifying glass.
