Pros: fast, reliable, cheap, comfortable, features multi-functions, designed for right- and left-hand use Cons: none
I bought two of these wheel optical mice to replace my unreliable and inaccurate trackball mice. I got tired of having to maintain them more often than I would want to. With these wheel optical mice, no regular maintenance or cleaning needed, no mouse ...
When we needed another new mouse, my husband decided he wanted to go optical and started looking around. He came home with the Microsoft MS Wheel Mouse Optical and I have been very happy with it.
Pros: Optical, lightweight, flexible. Cons: Nothing to speak of.
Over the years I have learned that a computer mouse is not just a mouse; it in many ways defines your computing experience. A smooth running mouse is a joy to work with, while a mouse that skips, jitters, and has a mind of its own can tack minutes or ...
Pros: cost Cons: not good if the mouse is moving too quickly
Mom's computer started doing all kinds of bizarre things that made it near to impossible to work with. The final decision was that my aunt - who had built the computer - would take it back to her place and fix it. Besides reinstalling windoze, the...
Pros: cheap, optical, works Cons: can loose tracking at high speeds
I've had this mouse for 8 months; it still works like new. I purchased it for $25 Canadian at Futureshop. It uses optical technology so dirt won't jam and impede movement like a conventional mouse. This allows for consistently smooth tracking, which ...
Pros: A good all round mouse Cons: Not too robust allegedly...mine seems fine though, roller a little 'rattly'
I've always employed some kind of reverse snobbery when it comes to things like PC mice. As long as it feels comfortable to use then I've been more than happy to spend my $3 on it whilst others have spent fortunes on mice packed full of the kind of bells...
Pros: Good functioning, Good style for the office, Optical capability Cons: None whatsoever.
I purchased about 20 of these mice for the office I once worked for. I wanted to slowly replace the ball mouses we had with a more modern looking mouse that my coworkers would be happy with. What's great is when the lights were dimmed in the ...
Pros: Two buttons (im a mac user), wheel, optical, long cord, cheap, ergonomic, accurate, USB Cons: Beige doesnt match my Power Mac G4
I bought this mouse to replace the Apple Pro Mouse that shipped with my G4. What a difference! Let me start by listing some of the features this mouse has.
Pros: Very precise, and it does not have a ball that needs cleaning. Cons: none
I use to have te normal mouse and the ball needs to be clean. It traps dirt and it will cause the cursor to jump like a real mouse.
But finally, I gave up on that and got this optical mouse. It is the best investment. It never need cleaning, and it...
Nice mouse at a nicer price by ptndanp ,Apr 18 '04
Pros: Good design, long cord, usb-ps2 adapter incl, accurate, cheap. Cons: Only three buttons (incl wheel) and are a little loose, inaccurate wheel.
Bought as a quick replacement to the old ball mouse that accumulated several kilos of dust, the Microsoft wheel optical is the first optical mouse in the house.
When plugged in, it was detected and automatically installed in a breeze, with the red glow lighting up immediately. The ergonomic design was good, and even though I am a right hander, this mouse is capable for lefthanders too.
The traction is excellent, even on clear glass and is faultless with accuracy.
The buttons, though are slightly dodgy, if pressed around the edges. I feel if dropped, the buttons will snap off. The wheel is also also a little loose, if you know what I mean and a stiff fell would have been favored.
The buttons are also customizable using Microsoft's Intellipoint software and it is also quite comprehensive.
All in all, this is a very able mouse. At such a price, you cant go wrong.
Pros: Simple, inexpensive, durable, far outlasted my ball-mice. Cons: None.
After wearing through three or four regular roller-mice within a year (each one's internal rollers wearing out distressingly quickly with normal but intensive usage), I finally tried out one of these optical mice (i.e, no moving parts), and was very pleased with the results. My first Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse lasted me almost two years, and another two years later I'm still using the second. Beyond an occasional dust-wipe, I've never needed to clean it at all. The mouse motion, buttons, and scroll wheel are all still very responsive, whether I use a mouse pad under it or not.
I've used this mouse extensively with both Windows 98 and Windows XP, and had no problems with either. It also works just as well using either the regular PS/2 connection or the USB plug (although the USB plug is more easily recognized by the computer if the mouse is connected while the computer is already running).
I wish my employer would buy a nice big supply of these for the office, so I could stop having to bother them for replacement roller-mice every few months.
