Miele CVA4075 Stainless Steel

I agree with previous review. Espresso is not hot enough even on high setting. However, nice looking machine. Would be nice if it had a steaming wand. Frother works well but requires more cleaning than a standard wand. Stainless drip tray scratches easily.

Pros: Single cup whenever.  Can make very strong, to weak and all in between.
Cons: Not great for large crowds.  Plumbing would be a great improvement. 

Installed during kitchen remodel.  First couple of years I was the only one using the system.  Taught kids to make ice coffee, now I cant keep coffee in the kitchen.  They now appreciate this system, and are no longer going out to Starbucks for four dollar cups of coffee.  We are very happy with the unit.  We bought the cup warmer which I recommend.  Large cups will cool down the coffee if they are not warmed first.  This seems like a lot of work but in the morning to produce a single cup of coffee is really easy.  Much easier than a French Press, or other coffee brew units.  Have had a few problems with the brew unit locking up.  We have been able to free it without professional attention.  After three years have had our first problem requiring a service call.  Setup for tomorrow, had to wait 8 (eight) days for the appointment.  Will post results. 

Pros: good flavor
Cons: cold coffee and cold milk

Don't spend your money on this machine if you like hot coffee, expresso or cappucino. Although the coffee has good flavor, it is cold by the time you add any cream. Additionally, the milk frother doesn't begin to get the milk hot. Once you add the luke warm milk to the not-so-hot coffee, you have a seriously cold cup of coffee. Too bad Miele can't fix this...the flavor is good.

Pros: Makes a good cup of: coffee, espresso, and cappuccino. Easy to clean.
Cons: Factory service is terrible. Wait for the 3rd generation of CVA 4075 before buying.

Have the CVA 4075 (plumbed unit) for about 4 months operation.
1. Do not buy the Miele Coffee Cup Warmer. Mugs do not fit. It is to expensive--get a Wolf Warming Drawer.
2. Must heat your coffee mugs and cups 1st, then use the CVA 4075. Otherwise, your beverage is cool.
3. We have the CVA 4075 heating water temp set to Maximum.
4. The Hot Water dispenser, "splashes" out side your cup or mug--no adjustment for water pressure.
5. Condensation from the normal "steam" collects behind the main door and behind the touch screen glass. We have a high potential for mold. So, it is a major concern to us.
6.Factory Service and Tech support stated that "condensation" behind the unit's door and touch screen, was due to the low temperature of our kitchen. Seals are the real problem.
Can not set the water temp to a higher level.
Can not adjust the water pressure.
If you buy the CVA 4075, get the 5 year parts and warranty coverage. We bought the 5 year warranty coverage.

Pros: Makes at least 6 cups of coffee before breaking
Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!  Not reliable, made only 6 cups of coffee before  breaking

We purchased the coffee maker for Christmas.  It made 6 cold cups of coffee and quit working.  17 days and 7 calls later we still don't have a repair appointment.  Customer service Stinks!  They promise to call with appointments and don't call back.  They have long hold periors for customer service that does nothing when you get them.  DON'T BUY THIS COFFEE MAKER!

Pros: Coffee and milk froth is OK.
Cons: Miele does not allow good warranty service. 

Just be aware that Miele does not allow dealers to provide warranty service without first hassling the customer.  You have to call them, wait, and go through "trouble shooting" like cable customer.  Then, they will allow the dealer (who you already paid for warranty service) to come out.  Next time, I'm not getting a Miele.  I had an out of box failure and service from Miele (not the dealer) was a hassle.

Pros: Works great. If you are going to spend the money get the plumbed unit. 
Cons: Pretty expensive. I had a Saeco Vienna deluxe ($400) which worked great. 

If your drink is not hot, try heating the cup for expresso etc first.  If you did not buy the warming drawer (which I did but only use for large groups), preheat the cup by running hot water from the unit into the cup first, then make your drink. Buy the plumbed unit or you will be running after water. I am happy with it and it looks great in my new kitchen.
