Great Machine- Not a Perfect machine Though

by davegvg , Feb 28 '06
Pros: Pros- efficient, thorough washing- done quietly
Cons: Cons- capacity, stands not matched, build quality excellent but not perfect, no spin only mode
Update- In late November 08 the wash cycles time began climbing in time to multiple hours. A service call diagnosed the problem as a bad heating element. The part was not available, and when it  became available it  was packaged in a "kit" form ...

Best Washing Machine in the US !!!!

by bokluk , Jul 30 '05
Pros: washing/cleaning performance, power/water efficiency, very quiet, nothing compares to Miele !!!
Cons: high price, need special electrical setup
I recently bought the W1215 even though I wanted to first buy the W1203 which is basically the same machine except that it does not offer a delayed start (but who needs that anyway) and it comes in white. But then, I saw the W1215 in the shop with its ...

Luxury Laundry? Right here...

by r_finley , Jun 17 '06
Pros: Luxury clothes washer that justifies its price premium. No rinse-spin cycle.
Cons: Normal wash cycle is 55 minutes. There are shorter cycles with relatively shorter spin times.
I did my first load of laundry in my shiny new W1215 Miele washer today. It is head and shoulders nicer than my 7-year old Bosch WFK2401 and my coworker's Whirlpool Duet. The advantage of the Miele over the Bosch is the drum is large enough to hold a ...

Very satisfied- Works beautifully!

by rdebrigard , Jan 15 '06
Pros: cleans extremely well, quiet, beautiful, has built-in safety devices. Highly adaptable due to multiple settings
Cons: Costly; also best for family with moderate washing needs
PRODUCT EVALUATIONS I hesitated to get a Miele washer/drier vertical combo because of the cost. But no other stacked units seemed quite right for our (relatively small) New York City apartment kitchen....and besides, my wife wanted the Miele. So I ...

I guess we got a lemon

by gamine , Jul 05 '09
Pros: Looks nice; solid construction
Cons: Unreliable electronics; poor value; no separate rinse or spin cycle
We bought the Miele W1215 a couple of years ago when we remodeled our house. For environmental reasons, we wanted to buy some appliances that would last 20 years, instead of the junk that most companies make that goes to the dump in 5.Our first sign ...

Luxury laundry but misses some basics
by sallyannebuck ,Jul 23 '06
Pros: Gentle treatment of garments, sanitize cycle is awesome, nicest aesthetic among front loaders
Cons: No quick cycles, clothes wrinkle on high spin cycles, drop on floor during removal
Purchased Miele softtronic w1215 washer and 1405 dryer eight months ago and love the cleaning and care the appliances show the garments. However, the washer in particular is missing some basics - like there is no "quick" cycle, nor can you go directly to a "rinse & spin" cycle or spin only. Because of the small door openings on both units clothes will often fall out onto the floor during removal.

You simply cannot beat German engineering!
by mielefan ,Nov 09 '05
Pros: Much more gentle on clothes, uses very little water and detergent, yet gives outstanding results.
Cons: Cost? But I believe it may even be less over the long term.
I took delivery of my Miele Washer/Dryer pair about three months ago.

I am delighted with the decision to go back to the European style washer, and wonder why I waited so long! This machine is excellent. I can't fault it. Even though I am from Europe, and am familiar with front loaders, the Miele is by far the best I have come across.

The difference between results from my old top loader and the Miele, is like night and day! It even removed old (dried in) stains from clothes that I thought were there for good, WITHOUT pre-treating. I strongly advise using the recommended detergent, for ultimate results. It may seem expensive, but it is much more concentrated than regular top loader detergent, and much less is needed.

A very well engineered, quality machine, built to last.(No, I don't work for, or have any affiliation to Miele - other than owning one :O))

If you want an efficient wash, that really cleans your clothes whilst treating them much more gently - get one of these, you won't regret it!
