Purchased Washer and Dryer but after a month we have had our third service call for the dryer. Worst yet, Miele response leaves a lot to be desired and you will wait a long time to have a service tech to show up. Would not say the extra cost worth paying at this point.

Needed to replace our TL and after much research decided on purchasing the Miele 11/07.  My utility bills the following month were lower (especially the water bill)!  Clothes come out beautiful!  I have not handwashed since I purchased the Miele.  The machine is so quiet.  It spins the water out of the clothes so well that the dryer time has been cut down considerably.

My husband's jeans - 3 pair at a time (he is 6'4) now dry in 20 minutes (w/ a Miele T9800)!  I switched from a gas to electric dryer and am saving $s w/ the gas and electric utilities.

Also, the machine is large enough that you do not have to purchase a pedestal.

let's take a step back and realize, acknowledge, and adjust...

THE MACHINE ALLOWS MOLD TO GROW ON THE INTERIOR!!!!

In the door seal at the front of the machine, where Miele cautions that loose socks may get caught... no socks there except a basin with NO DRAIN and water sitting. What happens next you ask? MOLD.

I'm a designer and specify this machine... will not do so again. Our clients are furious.

Miele says that the door seal "should be cleaned everyday". That is absolutely absurd.

Cons: Smallish (4.0 instead of 4.4 or more).

I bought my Miele washing machine W4840 in August 2008. I was delighted to move to a front load machine and had read great reviews - so I was very much looking forward to having this new machine. Unfortunately, I cannot say how disappointed I am by it as it already broke down twice within 6 months and I was appaled by the slow service - nearly three weeks before someone serviced my machine after the first problem, which happened just 4 days after installation!!! For my second breakdown which happened yesterday, I'll have to wait 5 days...
So my advice to you is that you thoroughly check service standards in your region BEFORE you buy your machine. I live in Montréal, Canada - and the delays are just unacceptable for a brand of this reputation...

Cons: Poor rinse, leaves soap.  Shakes when spins.  Poor service.  Waste of money.

Shakes when it spins and moves around floor.  Repair man has been here twice with no improvement.  Will not rinse properly, told to use less soap. Save your money.
