I bought this saw a year ago and it has become one of the most used tools in my shop. I had a 4 amp Milwaukee Sawzall before and it was fine but I really only used it for cutting out walls etc. - which I don't do very often. This is a whole different animal. I keep it by the vise and use it very often to cut metal. It runs through heavy steel so well I rarely use the hacksaw anymore. Put a 10 tpi blade in it and it tears through 1/8" aluminum like it thinks it's cardboard.

I really like the adjustable blade guard that lets you get more mileage out of those expensive bimetal blades. It should have a stop at the last click though. Love the quick change blade too.


With a good blade on it and the orbital up, this saw goes through plywood quicker than you can pull it. I really have nothing bad to say about it. I got it on sale at Home Depot for $150 and have been completely happy with it ever since.

I love this sawzall. The balance on it is awesome. We have always use Milwaukee on the jobsites, but they decided to try another brand, the yellow brand. It was a disaster, the blade kept getting stuck and one of the motors failed. The went back to the Milwaukee's. I have been using the Milwaukee brand for over ten years and I love them. We have six of these on our shift and they have been heavily abused. (their not our tools, so we tend no to take care of them). Even after all the abuse and hours we have put on them, every time I pick one up and start to use, it feels brand new. All I can say if you are brand loyal that’s great, but when it come to this machine, you have to go with the Milwaukee.
