Pros: Heavy duty collet system.
Basically good depth adjustment concept.
Motor seems good. Cons: Base is cheapo.
I bought this specifically to go on a specialized router table, because I've had good experiences with Milwaukee tools in the past. They have really taken a beating, and stood up well. I think Milwaukee is beginning to cash in on their good name, with ...

Pros: Excellent all-purpose router Cons: No fancy bells or whistles
I have routers made by Delta, Bosch, DeWalt, and Porter-Cable, but this is my favorite. I like it so much that I have two--one in my router table and another for hand-held use. I find it very easy to use. The coarse and fine adjustments work great. ...

quality ends at the bottom

Pros: Actually is "Heavy-duty" Cons: Cannot route very square cuts.
The motor and depth adjustment components of this unit are solid, and the collet system is especially good, but if you are concerned with accuracy the base is a problem. The bottom (where the warped plastic sub-base mounts) is a rough casting that is nowhere near flat. The sub-base doesn't self center either; although that's a manageable problem in itself.

Milwaukee Depth Adjustment Doesn't
by elkgrovegary ,Jan 30 '04
Pros: Solid feel, great collet system Cons: Fine and coarse depth adjustments don't work
I am sorry to report that the depth adjustment on this particular Milwaukee router doesn't work. Neither the fine nor the coarse adjustment works. I've had to resort to loosening the entire motor housing, guessing at the depth, testing on scrap wood, readjusting, testing, and so on. At first I thought it was me, so I had a friend try it. We both read the instructions, followed along to the letter, and nothing.
I am impressed with the collet system. Very firm and easy to use. It does require two wrenches, with I know others dislike, but when it comes to a spinning bit, I want to be sure it stays where I intend it to stay (as opposed to flying off into the shop wall!)
A final note: I bought this router thinking that the BodyGrip idea would be great. I found that I almost always use the handles instead. I don't have a lot of experience with routers, so I don't think that it is because of habit, just gives you better control.

Pros: easy to change collar and adjustment Cons: table base plate not supplied
Hi
I have 4 router: Ryobi, Milwaukee, Makita and HMD
I need a good one for my router table and let me say it perfect.
It has the opening in the base for a 3/8 socket to adjust the depth I like the part I can take the motor of the base and have no problem with changing the bit.
The other I have to slip the wrench between the plate and body and hope not to pinch my finger when it come loose.
I love it
