Hats off to Minolta - what other digital camera is there with this picture quality & level of features that is so pocket sized? This is a great bit of kit.
This is a great camera. We took it to Europe and took over 1000 pictures with it. The size allowed me to always have it available in my pocket. It has the capability to take good pictures in low light. With feature settings, you can get better pictures under florescent light. Battery life if short if you are using it alot. We used two batteries so we could go all day.

I bought this camera on 1/18/03 - received it about four days later. Have taken maybe 15 pictures with it. Was going to use it today and it no longer works. Fires up but the screen and images are way out of whack - so blurry you cannot decipher what you are looking at. So I am told to send it in for repairs. I'm not much for paying $400.00 plus for a "repaired" camera. I would not recommend the purchase of this camera. By the way, the microphone is located where you will place your index finger to hold the camera thereby muffling the sound recording feature. Poor design.
Have used Diamage X model... by stanley_dt3000 ,Oct 30 '02
Have used Diamage X model and like it very much but had been wishing for more resolution for better 8x10 prints. Very pleased that the XI model is coming out. I think it would be completely perfect if it contained eyepiece correction like the Sony dsc f 707. I own one of these also but leave it at home most of the time because I prefer the compactness of the Minolta Dimage X. I would also like to have longer battery life but realize this may not be possible and still maintain the compactness of the camera.
