Pros: Great camera to learn the basics on
Cons: It might have a fatal flaw

Summary: As I write this my faithful, but now ill, Minolta X-370 sits in my lap. The camera was a High School graduation gift from my dad, an experienced photographer. He told me that to really learn photography I needed a good, simple camera that would let me ... read more

  • A super fine low cost manual camera with lots of used lens choice.

Pros: Lots of optically superior name brand lens for these cameras at dirt cheap prices.
Cons: None, unless you have to have autofocus capability.

Summary: The X-370S is the updated version of the X-370N and the original X-370. This is a stripped down version of the famous X-700 discontinued several years ago. The X-370 series was derived from X-570. The X-370S is the updated version of the X-370N and ... read more

Cons: You actually have to learn to use it!!

Summary: Easy to use. Easy to make mistakes. Easy to learn from. Easy to grow with. My brother is an avid photographer and has been for years. He has carried his camera around his neck for 15 or more years and has come to understand the ... read more

  • My X-370 and I - through think and thin

Pros: Simple but expandable, reliable, durable
Cons: Can't think of a one!!

Summary: I have always been infatuated with photography. When I was a junior in college I was given a X-370 as a gift by a friend who thought I would enjoy having more control over my pictures than I had with my point & shoots. They could not have been ... read more

Pros: Easy to use and solid construction.
Cons: No depth of field preview.

Summary: I bought this item as my first camera some years ago. My personal experience with it was really positive. This is a reliable and durable inexpensive full manual SLR adequate for beginners and intermediate photographers. This is also an ideal ... read more

  • Minolta X-370s

    Mar 19, 2000
    Pros: Inexpensive, professional quality photographs
Cons: No depth of field preview

Summary: With the Minolta X-370s, there is no need to spend lots of money in order to take professional quality photos. It is the very rare photographer who has need of the features on more expensive “automatic” 35mm SLR cameras. I strongly recommend ... read more

  • Good intro model or backup camera for X-570 or X-700

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Dec 7, 1999
Pros: Pretty well equipped for a low-end model.
Cons: Lacks many features of X-700; you don't get what you don't pay for.

Summary: Bottom line: A good manual focus camera with some frills; as my title indicates, it makes a good introductory model or an inexpensive backup to the higher-end X-series cameras like the X-700 and X-570. If you owned an SLR in the 70's, you ... read more
