Pros: Well loaded with features, light, Compact and very easy to use.
Cons: No DOF preview. A little nose heavy when you put qualiy lenses on it.

Cons: Manual that comes with camera is not very helpful.

Summary: There are many cameras out there that are good for beginners/amateurs at cheaper prices like the Nikon N65 or the Canon Rebel 2000. In comparison the Minolta XtSi is not much more expensive and has such great features that you can grow with this ... read more

Summary: Well I bought this camera for £220 in the UK (where I live) after I broke my first proper camera, a Zenit TTL. Thus far the Minolta 505si Super which is what we call it over here has performed faultlessly during a short holiday where it was used ... read more

Pros: small and lightweight, not too expensive
Cons: could have more features, feels cheap

Summary: This is a great camera to learn on. Not as imposing as a fully manual body, yet more functional than a point and shoot. This body gives you one great feature: eye-start, which will turn on the camera when you put it up to your eye, which I ... read more

Summary: I first saw the Minolta Maxxum line back in the late 1980's, and ever since then, I knew that this was the kind of camera I've wanted to own. But I bought a point and shoot due to sheer convenience and price. It was an excellent camera, and ... read more
