Pros: Excellent comfort and protection Cons: Questionable appearance, not adjustable
Why look back? The helmet industry is about to get turned upside down. Bauers 8000 is perhaps the least exciting of the new helmets that either just hit the market or are about to do so. However it did introduce some new fit systems. The RBK ...

Pros: Top-of-the-line protection, great fit, comfortable, different look (if you like it). Cons: Prohibitive cost, different look (if you hate it), you definitely have to size it.
Mission is not afraid to push the envelope in developing new twists on hockey equipment. In my experience, their efforts often pay at least noticeable dividends-- but this effort pays off BIG-time! The Mission Carbster takes hockey helmets to a whole...

Pros: Great protection and looks. Very high quality. Cons: Very expensive. Not adjustable. Large heads need not apply.
Well, I wanted to buy one of these...... The Mission Carbster is truly a revolutionary product that just happens to have a major flaw. The flaw of the carbster is in that it cannot be adjusted. Unfortunately, that is also its second biggest strength when...

If you can find this helmet in a size that fits, BUY IT!!!
by hockeyjedi ,Mar 20 '06
Pros: Comfortable, highly protective, PRICE!!! Cons: May be hard to find in some sizes
I bought one of these helmets online to replace my aging Cooper 2000 hockey helmet. When it came in the mail, the first thing I noticed was that it was lighter than any helmet that I have ever worn. Turns out, it's also the most comfortable, and it still feels like it will absorb any impact that you will come across. The removable liner is soft and keeps the sweat out of your eyes a little, and (gasp!) it's even machine washable!!! (For anyone who has experienced a locker room full of vintage hockey gear after a game, this is a key feature!) It looks sharp, especially in black, and will accept any face mask. The best part is, these can be found in clearance sections for as little as $10!!! I liked mine so much, I bought four more of them!

Cheapest helmet around! Excellent FIT!
by bkdiem ,Jun 09 '05
Pros: price! - fit Cons: odd shape doesn't work well with shields + full masks.
I read a review above, listing the expensive price as a CON! I paid $20 on a closeout. The helmet fits my head better than ANY other helmet I've tried. excellent value. excellent quality.
I also consider the fact that it is non adjustable a PRO in this case. I think the adjustable helmets are bulky, and constantly loosing screws, etc.. this helmet is not adjustable.
I do have a potential con however... I think the shape is a little off. I had to add an extra hole in mine to attach a half visor. not a big deal for me but I like my garage. I had the same trouble with a full mask.
I now own 4 of these! hopefully wont need another in the next 20 years.
