  • Perfect until you play the MP-14!

    Jul 4, 2002 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: These irons are beaultiful, great feel, lofts are perfect, and workability is superb.
Cons: The soles are not cambered, hand made so not cheap.

Summary: My MP-29's were not run of the mill. I have played some mini-tour golf, but more importantly I have a friend, from Sweden, who has played with the big boys. Because of him I was able to get a totally "Tour Custom," as they call it, set of 29's 1-PW for ... read more

    Pros: long lasting
    Cons: dinted shafts

Summary: I've had my Grads now for between 4-5 years. The have Rifle 6.5 shafts, half-inch extensions, and are bent upright. Wouldn't switch to anything to be honest. I have always preferred the feel of a forged club to a cavity back (even when I mis-hit them in ... read more

  • The Best Are Better

    Nov 12, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Playability, design, performance
    Cons: Not for everyone

Summary: There was a time when blades were blades, and what you hit is what you got. Now with the advent of computer technology, you can buy a better blade, and not only a better blade, but a better Mizuno blade. The new Mizuno MP-33 irons are without ... read more

  • Experience speaks

    Oct 25, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: style, workability, control
Cons: only for the good golfer

Summary: Workability, trajectory, ball flight.....if these terms do not go through your head before you plan a shot, the Mizuno MP 29 irons are not for you. They are, in my opinion, the pinacle of irons, but only for the most skilled players. Those with ... read more

  • Not necessarily for the pros

    Aug 31, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Feel, Accuracy, Distance
    Cons: price, forgiveness

Summary: For the past year, I've been going through clubs after clubs in search for "THE" clubs. Being a 15 handicap, I've been told by numerous pros and fellow golfers to stick with the cavity back, "forgiving" irons. I've tried king Cobra ... read more

  • Excellent Irons

    Jul 12, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Excellent Looks, and not to mention the superior workability
Cons: A few dents in the clubs after a while

Summary: I am a 19 year old 9 handicapper who looked to improve his game this year. After using these clubs (2-PW) for almost 2 months, I strongly feel that my dream of becoming of scratch golfer is within my grasp. Not only do I get the workability ... read more

  • Beautiful Clubs

    May 4, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Everything
    Cons: Price

Summary: This set is just so sweet. Everything about it is unreal.. The first thing you notice about this set is it's looks. They are just so picture perfect you want to put them up on the wall. And as you hit the course with them it's know ... read more

  • Confessions of a MP-29 owner.

    Apr 25, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Infinite potential. Quality customer service. A true "professional" iron.
Cons: Temperamental & nicks easily. Soon to be discontinued. :-(

Summary: If you are reading this opinion, then you are probably wondering about buying a forged blade. Before you go out and buy a set, you need to ask yourself two questions. 1) Is my swing good enough to handle a forged blade, and 2) Is my wallet thick enough ... read more

  • looks say it all

    Jan 24, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Great look, forged for better players
Cons: must be VERY good, expensive

Summary: These irons are classics. True classics. Not the forged irons out there that somehow are created with a two inch topline. No irons created to meet the ever demanding well, demands, of the finest players on earth. However, the finest players on ... read more

  • THE game improvement club

    Dec 21, 1999 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: good looks; feel of a good shot
Cons: difficult for beginner/occasional golfer to use

Summary: The Mp 29's are for those golfers who wish to find out how good they might really be, or at least, wish to be. Unlike the so-called 'game improvement' clubs which I have had ( eg. Ping and Callaway) these clubs force you to hit good shots or pay the dear ... read more

  • Unless you can do what Tiger can do......

    Sep 10, 1999 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: wonderfully classic, timeless design, "old school"
Cons: the average golfer might hit the sweetspot once out of a thousand swings

Summary: Make no mistake, a great club....but only for a superb player. To give you some context, I have been playing golf competitively for 12 years (even has a stint as a club pro) and bluntly out, these are ludicrously hard to hit. Because of this, I could ... read more
