Pros: Works quickly, gets the job done Cons: There can be side effects with prolonged use
Our house has become a pharmaceutical lab with the amount of medication that is stored between our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. We have vitamins, supplements, pain relievers, fever reducers, cough suppressants, allergy medication, antacids, laxatives, ...
Pros: Works well if used infrequently. Cons: May cause rebound headaches. Costs much more than generic ibuprofen.
I found myself getting more and more frequent headaches, and this worked for me initially. I kept having to pop ibuprofen pills all the time, and after several years, realized I was getting rebound headaches FROM taking the pills... I stopped taking them altogether and rarely get headaches anymore. When I do, it's often because I'm dehydrated or spent too much time staring at the computer screen. Aleve works much better for me without causing rebound headaches. I also starting taking B-Complex and Magnesium supplements every day (helps regulate blood flow), and haven't had a single headache in months. Sounds simple, but it's inexpensive and it really works. My brother used to get migraines and now he takes B-vitamins and Magnesium daily and feels fine. If you're going to buy Motrin, save half your money by buying the generic store brand. Works exactly the same.
