Pros: Programmable and makes good coffee, but grounds constantly overflow the basket. Cons: Over-flowing grounds require permanent and disposable filters. Do not overfill the reservoir (leaks happen).
When my Braun pooped out on me, I replaced it with a black Mr. Coffee UNX33 12-cup programmable coffeemaker. We decided to buy a Mr. Coffee because if they don't know how to make a good coffee maker --- who does? I checked out prices on the...

Pros: Timed Brewing Cons: Catches Fire, Overflows, Filter collapses letting grounds get into brewed coffee.
I had my maker for about 2 years. It was a replacement for a smaller manual brew Mr Coffee, so I could wake up to a freshly brewed already hot pot of coffee. I must say I was not very happy with this product right from the beginning, but it was a gift so ...

Pros: Timer and clock are a real convenience. Adjustable heat setting is also good. Cons: Poor basket design. Poor instructions. Short (5 oz) cup.

Overflow Mess - Correctable if still under warranty
by braidingsix ,Nov 18 '03
Pros: When, functioning without overflowing it made wonderful coffee. Programming and the features were wonderful. Cons: Coffeemaker overflows regularly. Manual leaves impression it's a user problem. When, it is not always.
First purchased this product based on Brand and Features, programmable controls, indicator for Clean Cycle, 1-4 cup option, with warming plate temperature selectable. Mine finally died an went to Cafe Heaven. Thermostat died caused by overflowing problem. All along we thought it was the filters Permanent/paper, position of basket, position of pot, etc. We kept following the instruction manual over and over again. Finally called 1-800-Mr Coffee after warranty expired and more than a year of messes. They indicated that we did everything we could have to prevent overflow that the product must of been defective and that caused damage to thermostat by overflowing. Sorry! consumer about your problem, here's the information on where you can pay to repair it at your own expense, both the defect and the damage it caused to thermostat. Problem, nowhere in the manual did it indicate that overflowing may be caused by anything other than user error and to contact the company.
