Pros: Very strong, ok grip, light weight. Cons: Not the easiest to hammer, not cheap, loop hook isn’t the best design.
This is one of the coolest looking stakes you can buy, but for 2 bucks for one stake worth it? The short answer is yes under certain conditions. The long answer is maybe. The listing is a kit which generally contains 8 stakes for $20. It is cheaper ...

Replaced the stakes for all my tents!
by gsveum ,Sep 12 '06
Pros: Very lightweight, incredibly strong, great little cord loops for easy pullout. Cons: None really
I was first introduced to MSR Groundhog stakes when they were included in my MSR "Ventana" tent. I didn't really appreciate them at first, until I took my other tents out camping. These stakes are great. They are very lightweight, extremely strong, easy to pound with rocks, @ easy to pull out thanks to the small cord loops that come with them. I find them easy to use guy lines with, as they are easy to angle-out if needed. The nook for the guy lines is pretty small, but as long as the guys are tight your OK. I replaced all other tent stakes for my 3 other tents with these stakes. I bind them all together with a mini-carabiner through the cord loops, it seems easy to keep them together that way. Great stakes! The only thing I haven't used them with is deep snow, probably would be better to go with actual snow stakes for that.
