Pros: Time Released Formula For Lasting Relief! Cons: Kept Behind The Counter!
In December I was sick with a severe case of bronchitis that almost went into pneumonia. I couldn't seem to get over it, every time I thought I was better, the coughing would emerge full spectrum the next day. My doctor had me on several medications ...
Pros: Non-drowsy, non-stimulant Cons: Relief is minimal, very expensive, very bad taste
I'll admit it. The commercials got to me. The first time I saw the Mucinex commercial, I wasn't even sick and yet I still couldn't wait to try it. I'm sure you've seen the commercials, but in case you haven't, you can check out Mr. Mucus online at ...
Pros: Lessens strength and frequency of cough; makes cough more productive. Cons: Expensive.
Choosing a cough medicine at your local drug store can be sort of like a game of Russian Roulette. From single symptom cough gels, to multi-symptom liquids, to non drowsy formulas, to night time formulas; there seems to be a cough remedy for every kind ...
Pros: 2 pills every 12hrs, loosens phlegm, thins mucus to make coughing & nose blowing easier Cons: Pills have bitter taste, Expensive: $10 for 20 pills
Last year I was coughing up blood so I went to the doctor. Mucinex was recommended By my Doc after having Chest X-rays to see if I had pneumnia or not. Good thing, I didn't have it but I was really sick. I have cronic Sinusitus and Allergies, so all year ...
Pros: Fast and effective. Extended relief. No side effects. Do not need to take with food. Cons: A little pricy.
I bought a bottle of Mucinex tablets after coming down with a miserable chest cold. I was stuffy and my chest was tight and I was coughing non-stop. I was a real joy to be around. After seeing the Mucinex commercials on TV, I decided to give it a try. ...
Pros: Strong medicine for extraordinary congestion. Cons: None
I bought the Mucinex on recommendation from a very kind Kroger pharmacist. My husband is a big man and when he gets a cold he gets a big cold and horrible congestion along with it. He also will not swallow even tiny pills and these are huge so I ...
Pros: A single medication to use. Convenient tablet form. Can be taken without food. Cons: Expensive at $23.00.
I had a chronic cough that was not productive in removing, or stopping the "goo" (phlegm) that was dripping down my throat. My symptoms were allergy related, but none of the antihistamines worked in stopping the drip, thus cough. Unless I doped myself ...
Pros: The advertisements are entertaining and the medication is a god send. Cons: The taste as it goes down is extremely unpleasant.
I'm quite possibly the least healthy of everyone in my household. I have had severe asthma since birth, severe allergies to everything from the enviroment to certain foods. I suffer from COPD, chronic bronchitis and basically there isn't a month that ...
Pros: Quick, but extended relief. Powerful, effective medication. Cons: Somewhat pricey, must follow very exact directions to work effectively.
My wife developed a very bad cold with a dry hacking cough in her throat. She used Delsym 12-hour syrup and 5 hours later she was hacking again. Three days later, when NyQuil and TheraFlu did not work, and it moved into a chest-congesting mucus cough ...
Pros: Work's just like it is supposed to Cons: No Cons only wish I had purchased it sooner
I Started to get sick at work on Friday , by the end of my shift I had almost lost my voice completely and was feeling really tight in the chest from congestion. I had a unproductive cough and was miserable. All I wanted to do was crawl into bed . By ...
Pros: It does stop your cough. Cons: You name it. It will make you feel like death. Horrible stuff.
I got a bad sore throat with cough & mucus and couldn't sleep so I tried Mucinex DM - and got incredibly sick for over 14 hours. I don't know what's in this stuff but the "DM" stands for "Demonic Medicine" as far as I'm concerned. It made me dizzy, lethargic, incredibly nauseous, and it affected my vision. And it stays in your system for a long, long time. I couldn't drive - all I wanted to do was sleep and was extremely dizzy. This stuff is bad voodoo.
This product is a waste of time and money! by foleytalk ,Mar 05 '09
Pros: If you llike to take pills, I guess that would be the only positive. Cons: Not effective. Waste of money and time.
I tried using this 1200 mg product twice on two separate colds and brochial infections. It didn't stop the coughs and the expectorant had little impact on eliminating the mucus. I used it with antibiotics prescribed by a physican to address the infection. I went back to my old standbys - Dayquill and Nightquill and they worked great. What a waste of time and money. This company is making great profits selling a poor product.
Pros: Clears you head, dries up you runny nose & reduces coughing to almost nothing. Cons: A little pricey but I found it online for under $11 per 20 tablet bottle.
I have found this product to be the only thing I can take , as I cannot take antihistamines. I can only take 30 mg dextromethorphan at a time and this pill is ideal. Not too much to bother me but enough to be effective, as promised.
I frequently have trouble breathing, as I have chronic bronchitis, but Mucinex clears my head and lets me breathe. Along with prescribed medication for clearing my lungs, I can now sleep through the night, which I could not do with only the one med.
My doctor recommended Mucinex & she certainly was right!
Also, my husband has a bad sinus condition and he needs Mucinex to clear his sinuses. We don't smoke so it is just must be that we are getting older.
I highly recommend Mucinex, but only try the tablets with 30 mg of dextromethorphan. If it doesn't work for you , then maybe you need the 60 mg.
Mucinex DM - Don't waste your money! by sskonold ,Feb 06 '09
Pros: Absolutely none. Cons: I got absolutely no relief from my symptoms, which the product claims to alleviate.
The product suggests taking one to two tablets every 12 hours. I started by taking two and waited. Thirty minutes went by; no change. An hour; still no change. I might as well have swallowed a couple of Tic-Tac's. I was still coughing and having to clear my throat of phlegm. The next day I bought a product that actually does what it claims...Robitussin DM.
I called the 800 number on the bottle and spoke with the Customer Service Supervisor, Samantha, to see if they would reimburse my money or send me their competitors product, but all they will send are coupons. If this product doesn't work, why would I want to by more of their products? They send me coupons that require me to spend more money on products that I wouldn't buy to begin with, just to save a few cents with their coupon. No thanks.
My husband and I had a pretty bad virus and our doctor told us to take Mucinex to break up the congestion. The first time we both took it, we went to work as usual and both of us had similar side effects. My husband felt very groggy and delirious. I started pouring sweat and I was very dizzy. My hands started shaking and I couldn't even complete a sentence. I had to get a ride home b/c I couldn't stand up! None of these side effects were listed on the bottle! TAKE THIS MEDICATION WITH SEVERE CAUTION!!!
