Pros: Almost anyone over the age of 12 can take this, no drowsiness or jitters Cons: Doesn't really effectively clear the head of congestion as it claims
Spring is in the air. The grass is finally green. The sun is shining. And I am sick. This is not a new concept. I seem to get sick whenever the seasons change (and often for no reason at all!). This time, I have a whopper of an inner ear problem along ...

Pros: It works fast and does the job! Cons: Pricey - but still worth it.
I have allergies and deal with sinus pressure and congestion. I also have a condition called SVT (Supra Ventricular Tachacardia) - in english this translates to a fast heartbeat. Some medicines, such as those found in certain antihistamines and ...
I suffer from Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, which means that the stuff from my middle ear doesn't drain properly. God knows why, but hasn't told my physicians. The results range from stuffy ears or muffled or hollow hearing to searing ear or throat ...
Pros: No palpitations, minimal drug interactions, safe for people with hypertension Cons: expensive, large pills, bitter taste
What is Mucinex? Mucinex is an extended release product whose main ingredient is guafenesin. This is a "mucolytic" agent, which means that it thins the secretions (mucus) that cause those nasty side effects of congestion and thick sputum when a person ...
Pros: breaks up the mucus, allows you to get some sleep Cons: only for those 12 and older
You know how sometimes you hear about something new to you twice within just a few days? Or two entirely different people give you the same advice for treating something, and it's different than anything you've ever done before? That's what recently ...
Pros: Does take away some symptoms of a cough Cons: May cause a rash, does nothing special, costly
Mucinex Expectorant appeared to have the correct components to help relieve my sickness. I was drug down with a nasty cough for roughly 2 months. Sleep was a major problem since I spent 1\3 of the nighttime sitting up in my bed coughing. ...
Pros: Works as directed Cons: Expensive- buy the "generic"
This product contains the same active ingredient as the good ol' stuff you used to take as a kid, Robitussin DM, without the unnecessary suppresant. I have asthma and have generally taken this when getting over a virus, and the only symptom remaining ...
Pros: Reduces the number of times per year that I take antibiotics. Cons: Way too expensive.
Mucinex is too expensive but it is the only product that works for me. In the allergy season I take 2 tablets in the morning and two in the evening. At the best price, that is $1.64 a day. I have tried the guaifenesin that is not time released and it ...
Pros: Extended release. Cons: Did not clear up stuffiness, made me vomit, and gave me a headache
Several months ago, I caught yet another cold. Stuffiness, puffy eyes, sore throat...You know, the works! After seeing commercials all the time for Mucinex Expectorant Guaifenesin Extended Release tablets, I decided to give them a try. Nothing else ...
Pros: Are you kidding? Cons: Expensive, excessive packaging, totally worthless, side effects galore
My lovely daughter gave me the flu. Coughing, chest congestion, aches, fever... Since the manufacturer claims Mucinex helps suppress coughs and clear chest congestion and those are the most bothersome symptoms for me, I thought I would give it a whirl ...
Pros: It works. Don't know why. But it does. Cons: Is rather pricey. Pills melt as soon as they hit tongue- YUCK!
Seriously. I have been sick with chest congestion that travels up to my sinus and back down again on and off since November 2003. Every once in awhile, I'd share it with hubby and he'd give it right back. And it is now March 2005. I've been to the ...
Pros: nothing Cons: The only thing is expels is money from your wallet, not mucus!
It doesn't work and we both went through 2 bottles in a week, since they tell you to take the 20 pills per bottle in a week for relief & we sound like we have pneumonia afterwords! After falling for their ad with the way we are up all night coughing ...
Pros: Wonderful all around. Great for PND. Cons: Pill is a little large but that's just me.
I have never written a review for Epinions but I just had to for Mucinex.I have suffered from allergies and PND since I was a child. I constantly sniff driving my husband crazy. Recently, I started to experience irritation in my throat so bad ...

Pros: Cute packaging if you're trying to impress friends. Cons: Completely ineffective. On whom did they test this?
I bought this for my daughter who produces more mucus than 10 grown men when she has a cold or the flu. She is 12 and she swore that it didn't work. I thought she was just being lazy about "getting it out" once the mucus was loosened. So, unfortunately, but kind of also fortunately I got a bad cold. I still have it. I can feel and see ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECTS! This contains Guaifenesin which is what is in most "health food store" or natural healing cold remedies. I know that you must use ENOUGH of an herb or homeopathic treatment for LONG ENOUGH to get a result. Well, call me your very own personal Guinea Pig but this doesn't work. The commercial is extremely cute but offers empty, persuading promise. SKIP IT. It is expensive but packs no punch, my friends. I do not lie. Peace.
