Pros: Attractive, very user-friendly, color/3.5" touchscreen, seems to work quickly Cons: Some routes not ideal, limited locations available
I don't have a great sense of direction, and coupled with living in a new city and driving to a lot of new places with a new baby in the car, a GPS was a perfect gift for me last year. I was very pleasantly surprised to get this Navigon 2100 GPS as ...
Navi On a recent drive with a friend I had the opportunity to test out his new Navigon 2100 Max. This navigation system is the big brother of the Navigon 2100 and has more than enough extras to make it the better choice of the two. It has a great look, ...
Pros: Tons of high-end feaures: big screen, traffic alerts, text to speech Cons: Slow. Clunky user interface. Oh, and slow.
I have owned the Navigon 2100 max for about a year now. As I write this review, I am doing it mindful of similar products on the market, the state of the technology and value (features included for what was paid). Overall, this is a decent ...
Pros: Excellent UI. Text-to-speech for roads. Reality View for highways. Lifetime traffic. Cons: Navigon left NA market. Traffic isn't in some cities. Questionable map update policies. Glitches.

My wife wanted a GPS unit for her car; I have a Subaru and my GPS was built in. I went to Radio Shack and looked at various units, but didn't try any of them. This one seemed to have lots of features for less than what other units at the same price ...
I bought the navigon 2100 from eCost in perfect condition for $89.99. It was recertified by Navigon .... and the packaging, product and product info was in perfect condition. excellent experience
Pros: Not many. Free traffic alerts? Cons: Slow interface, noisy, poor search function. Slow to respond to touch.
After having a Magellin and a Garmin (both old now), I decided to try on with text to voice and traffic.
Overall I find the GUI very poor and frustraiting on this unit. An example, looking for what restaurants are at the next exit on the highway. Garmin and Magellin - press button to pull up details about a selected exit, then one or two buttons to see a list of restaurants at the exit selected. Navigon, it took me 5 minutes to figure it out, basically you have to tell it what type of food you are looking for, then it will list all available by vendor name order instead of by exit / distance.
Likewise the traffic alerts block the screen until you press OK, and you may have to go through many of these alerts if you are in a busy area (i.e. DC traffic.)
