Pros: disposable, protects child from germy surface, colorful/fun Cons: need tape on 4 sides, should be available at more food courts, etc
Just recently I reviewed Table Toppers from Neat Solutions available in the 8 count package. A frustration that I shared in the review was the need to be available in larger quantities. Shortly after that review I was contacted by Neat...
When I first learned about Table Toppers it was from Epinions member MaryTara. I thought that they were a good idea, but with my youngest child being 3.5 years old, I did not think that I would really have a use for them.
Pros: Sanitary, Self-Adhesive, Cute designs Cons: Poor availability, May mar surface, Baby can remove
If you're the parent of a toddler, you probably know the scenario. You head to a restaurant, child in tow, hoping that the wait won't be too long, You step up to the greeter, who tells you they're clearing a table right now. Great! You'll get...
Pros: Sanitary, easy to use, fun for kids Cons: Hard to find
I highly recommend Table Toppers for any family thinking of taking a baby/toddler to a restaurant, or any place other than the high chair to eat. All you do is remove one from the package, take off the adhesive tape backing and stick to the table....
Pros: an even fit it in your pocket! Cons: Curious kids will try to remove it by themselves (but it stays on pretty well).
O.K. first, I need to say that I was skeptical after reading a review of how a child simply peeled this off the table. However, I received some as a gift and now I can't dine out without them! Our son is at the age where we put small pieces of 'real' ...
Pros: Sanitary. Cons: Not cheap, didn't work for our active child. :)
Ok, for the germophobe, these are a godsend. We got these, because our daughter had the tendancy to fling everything that was in front of her, onto the floor. Not a good idea to have the kid breaking a plate in a restaurant. But the horror of dumping cheerios directly on the table, what germs could be lurking there?? So I whipped out a table topper, and stuck it on, and put some food directly on it.
She eyed it for a few seconds, then ever so carefully peeled it off from one corner, and flung it to the ground, cheerios and all.
If you're guessing that we no longer go out to eat, you're correct. And I have to say, I think that simply wiping the table off with a wet wipe and some sanitizer would do the trick. This is again one of those items that isn't really a must have. It's something that a worried grandma would buy, or a parent would buy for their first child. After your second child, you tend to get a little more lax about things. :)
