Pros: Great way to exfoliate, not too harsh, renews skin Cons: Requires refills (pads and cream), button is hard to slide, pads glued to plastic
It is a constant battle with my skin, and I have to do a lot of work to maintain it. I find that I get good results when I exfoliate, so when the Neutrogena Advanced Solutions At Home MicroDermabrasion System came out, I wanted to give it a try. I ...
Pros: Immediately smooth skin Cons: Caused breakout, no long-term effects on complexion or skin, causes rawness in skin
I was skeptical about making such an investment in a microdermabrasion kit for home use. I decided to go with Neutrogena as I have had good luck with Neutrogena products in the past. The Product Neutrogenas At Home MicroDermabrasion ...
Pros: Works, doesn't hurt skin when applying Cons: Works temporarily, messy, annoying schedules
I was sick and tired of waking up every morning with a new growth on my face. This was primarily the main reason for my $30 purchase of Neutrogenas Advances Solutions At Home MicroDermabrasion System. I ran into this kit at Costcos, and ...
Pros: Costs less than "professional" in-office microdermabrasion treatments, easy to use. Cons: Does not deliver quite as stellar results as high-priced in-office microdermabrasion treatments.
I have a sister-in-law who is forty and gorgeous. She's constantly being mistaken for everyone's younger sister rather than older sister. Her secret? Part of it's just living well, but she confided to me once that she's had microdermabrasion treatments ...
Pros: Improves skin texture and removes flakiness. Cons: The manufacturer eludes to more than you should expect.
I'm getting up in years, alright, yes, I'm older, but not dead yet. I've been getting to the point where I cannot find my eyebrows without my 7X magnification mirror and a pair of glasses on. The first time I looked in this mirror, I nearly passed ...
Pros: Nearly Professional Results - Smooth Skin on it's way! Cons: Regular use necessary. Can be difficult to rinse off thoroughly.
Neutrogena Advanced Solutions At Home MicroDermabrasion System is Neutrogena's step into the advanced treatments that were previously only available at a Salon, Spa, or Doctor's office. Specifically, Microdermabrasion is a vigorous exfoliating, or ...
Pros: Works well for the price, considering its over the counter Cons: Bit costly, face grit is a tad messy
I bought this product after my many reading in beauty mags about microdermabrasion treatments. I dont have the extra money to visit the dermatologist, or the time, so I was curious as to how this home product would live up. Initially, I thought I would ...
Pros: Ease of use Cons: Replacement parts that need to be bought
Cost
I recently purchased the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion kit at Ulta in Minneapolis. I paid about $25 with a coupon. I found the instructions easy to follow and used it for the first time the very same day I brought it home. I have always struggled with ...
Pros: Younger looking skin and sometimes a natural blush appears. Cons: Time-consuming, drying, and you have to refill the sponges and cream regularly.
I bought this Neutrogena MicroDermabrasion kit at Costco which came with extra sponges and an extra exfoliating cream for about 50 dollars. The hand held machine vibrates strongly on the face--it reminded me of the massager that I use for relaxing the ...
Pros: Inexpensive alternative to spa, smooths texture, relaxing to use. Cons: Can cause painful breakouts in some people, can be messy
Although I am in my thirties, I still struggle with acne. In recent years I have discovered that frequent microdermabrasion treatments will keep my skin under control. Unfortunately, these treatments (at $125 a pop) cost too much for my meager budget ...
Pros: I was able to return it Cons: messy, difficult, made my skin break out
I really like Neutrogena products, but I have to say this one just isn't what the commercials claim it is. It may well be that 11 treatments with it are equal to 2 treatments at a dermatologist, but it certainly doesn't feel like it. It made my skin ...
Pros: Small Pores

younger appearance
healthy looking skin
Cons: Had a few breakouts first few days while getting used to it
I'm addicted!
I decided to purchase this product after doing some research online about acne scarring. I am 30 years old and I am incredibly self conscious about my acne scars from many years of teenage and adult acne. I have been dreaming about having dermabrasion ...
Pros: Amazing reduction in OLD stretch marks after only a few uses Cons: Buffer attachment is held on with a dab of glue, and is difficult to clean
I bought this product because I have pastey, sensitive skin which scars very easily even with the slightest cut or scrape and I have gone up an down in weight so much that it has left me with some pretty unsightly stretchmarks (and I'm only 26!) I ...
Pros: Exfoliates skin that has in no way been exfoliated Cons: It does nothing for skin that is regularly exfoliated
I am almost 36 with fair, clear skin. Most people guess me in my mid twenties I use serious SPF, never tug or pull and have moisturized/treated since early teens, so I guess I have pretty decent skin, but I do have some tell tale, fine lines cropping ...
Pros: Delivers results just as good, if not better, then the professional treatments. Cons: None really. Maybe the price?
I used to have very bad acne when I was in high school (i'm currently a college student.) I was always self conscious about my skin so when my face finally started clearing up around my senior year I was thrilled. However, caused from the previous acne I ...
Pros: -Very gentle (even on my fair, sensitive skin)
-Easy to use
Cons: -Expensive for a drugstore brand
-gritty cream can be difficult to wash off completely

Pros: Smooths skin, diminishes acne scars Cons: Expensive, time consuming
I'm a 24 year old and have pale skin and get a few zits a month. But these zits take forever to go away and then leave a nasty red scar as a reminder. So I was excited to try this to help combat them. I've been using it for a year now and use it ...
Pros: Easy to use. Dramatic results Cons: Haven't found any so far.
Entering the other side of my 40's I was looking for something to give my face a lift. It seems from reading the other reviews that this product doesn't work for everyone, but when it does - boy, does it work! If it helps anyone out there, I am of ...
Pros: Nice set up-easy to clean. Good results without much effort. Cons: Is not fragrance free
I am 53 and have been using scrubs for years. I still have breakouts at my age--but they are prevented by taking old skin cells away with scrubs and microdermabrasion. Office microdermabrasion is great, but terribly expensive. I decided to give this product a try. It has been a week and I feel and see results. It is more thorough than a scrub out of a tube. Not quite as aggressive as an office treatment, but I don't mind if several of the Neutrogena treatments equal one office visit. Who can argue with the savings? Even though it is not my objective, we will see over time if it helps with wrinkles or age spots. I'm happy as long as I keep seeing skin renewal and more brightness to my complexion.
Excellent Drugstore Exfoliator by onehotmommy ,Sep 27 '05
Pros: Great for smoothing skin. Cons: Time consuming
Excellent skin-smoothing results. I use Apricot Scrub daily, but got much better results after using this product only a few times. Anti-aging? Well... It did lighten my age spots a little, and probably will continue to do so with continued use. Wrinkles, again, slight improvement. The real WOW was my skin's texture after use. Softest it's been in years. Makeup goes on much more smoothly.
Time consuming process. Product a little greasy and difficult to 'splash' away. Used a washcloth to remove the second time around with better results. Not sure if full cleansing after use is appropriate (product says to wash away residue and then apply moisturizer).
Would recommend to anyone who wants heavy-duty exfoliation.
Pros: great exfoliator Cons: a bit pricey for at home treatments
I am under 30 and find that this product works well at exfoliating. I have been using it for 2 weeks, just as the package instructions say to and have not had any negative experiences besides slightly dry skin. I have noticed a slight decrease in my "wrinkles" and my 1 sunspot has decreased in diameter. I have noticed an improvement in skin tone as well.
Must Really Make a Difference! by cagram ,Oct 21 '06
Pros: Improves look and feel of face Cons: Refill cream is pricey
I bought this product after being tempted by Susan Lucci's infomercials for a competing brand. I work for a school district and tried it over my 6 week summer break. Frankly, I couldn't tell much difference. My face felt fine, but at 53, I'm always surprised when I look in the mirror and see and "old" face. I initially was not terribly impressed. When back at work, I had several people ask if I'd done something new. One teacher asked if I was wearing a different make up - I was wearing NONE. She was convinced I'd had "something" done. After several comments of that nature, I surmised that just because I didn't notice it looking daily in the mirror, didn't mean it wasn't effective. I use it about 3 times a week, just before my morning shower. I wash the sponge applicator in the shower and it's ready to go by the next time. I don't find it messy or hard to wash off.
Not worth it in the end by bluntnhonest ,Oct 12 '06
Pros: one day of clear skin Cons: Break out is likely and the cream is very greasy.
Clear, smooth skin after the first day of use. within the first week my skin broke out and was very irritated. I have lots of small pimple on my face now after three weeks of stopping use.
Great product that is worth the price! by rhodyramfan ,Feb 04 '06
Pros: Make pores smaller, skin smoother Cons: initial cost to buy all the tools needed, hard to scrub off the cream
This product is great if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg (or just plain out right don't have the time) to go to a spa. At first I was hesitant about purchasing this product because it would not be as effective as a professional microdermabrasion even though it has the Neutrogena brand label on it. I love this product and highly recommend it to anyone! This product is very easy and quick to use. You do not have to keep the cream on your face for very while using the tool (the maximum time recommended is 2 minutes in one area of the face while using the tool).
Overall I do recommend this product except for those people with sensitive skin. The cream could probably irritate their skin and become uncomfortable.
Pros: Definite improvement in colour, clarity and fine lines after only 4 treatments. Cons: Take a while to wash the product off your face.
I have used the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion system for 4 nights thus far and have seen excellent results. I am 50 years old and luckily my skin has maintained a fairly youthful vitality. The lines across my forehead and temples have smoothed out quite a bit. Even my mild acne scars under my cheeks seem smoother and the redness is gone. There is more brightness and clarity to my skin. The only problem spot which remains is the glabella (the 2 anger lines between my eyes). I guess Botox can only remedy that!!
Pros: Softer, smoother, breakout-free skin Cons: Somewhat expensive, difficult to remove excess creme after use
I have struggled with occasional acne breakouts since I was in high school. I am now 22, and since I began graduate school in the Fall, I have been under a lot of stress, which has caused my breakouts to increase in severity and frequency. I heard great things about microdermabrasion from friends and though it might help with my skin. When I first broke out in high school, I began using Neutrogena oil-free acne wash, and it made a huge difference. Since then, I've beena big fan of the brand, so even though I have sensitive skin (and was worried microdermabrasion might irritate it), I decided to give this product a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. After the first use, my skin had a rosy, healthy-looking glow, and it felt very smooth. After using the product for about a week, I have noticed a significant decrease in the number of pimples and red spots on my face. My pores look smaller, and my blackheads are gone, too. I would definitely recommend this product. It has really made a big difference for me.
Pros: Easy to use, and does what it should, but lightly. Cons: Not as deep as pro
I was skeptical, but also frugal and having monthly facials wasn't my idea of saving money. So for the price, I tried this and LOVE it. Feel so squeaky clean afterwards, and as I have easy to bruise or mangle skin--it is a delight since it is easy on my aging skin.
Pros: a good quick fix Cons: too rough, and is missing suction
Neutrogena tries to market this product as being as good as an in office microdermabrasion but don't be fooled! It did exfoliate for a quick fix, however it was a bit too rough and I found myself with flaky skin. It is missing the suction element of a real microdermabrasion, which is key in cleaning out pores.
Great product but had to go to the eye dr for help by sandraindallas ,May 31 '06
Pros: Great way to smooth my skin - I will continue to use weekly. Cons: You may end up at the eye doctor -read my review to avoid this.
About 4 a.m. today I awoke with pain in one eye and the feeling that something was in it. After checking a lighted magnifying mirror and finding nothing, I sat around with water running out, then was at the eye dr at 8 when his office opened.
The eye dr removed from under the upper lid one of the small round particles that are in the cream. He said he has a case like this about every 6 weeks since home microdermabrasion became popular.
To avoid this, do a very thorough splashing (not rubbing!) of the face to remove the cream THEN rub your eyebrows, edges of your hairline around your face and your eyelashes to make sure none of the tiny beads are left. One was left somewhere on my face and then in the night ended up in my eye.
I have rosacea, adult acne and seb derm. I use this product a few times a week, a low dose oral antibiotic, Elidel prescrip cream on flaky areas as needed, TNS Recovery complex before bedtime and Skinceuticals' C E Ferulic serum each a.m. before foundation.
Neutrogena at home Microdermabrasion by tracyb433 ,Apr 20 '09
Pros: Use it at your convenience. Several treatments from one purchase. Easy on the pocket. Cons: Pads wear out with each kit, which really isn't a bad thing.
I have had the kit for about a year now. I like the way my skin feels after using the system only one time. I take care of my skin on a regular basis and it is somewhat sensitive. My skin feels baby soft and I can tell the dead skin cells are removed after using the product the first time. Although I have used the kit as directed, I generally use it when my skin becomes dull and needs a good cleaning. I can tell a difference. I have had the high priced microdermabrasion done at the doctors office and feel you do get deeper results for the 50 per visit, but the at home kit provides a good maintenance program for between visits, or for those who want to do something better for their skin without paying for the in office treatments.
Pros: Price, smoother skin, significantly improved complexion (almost instantly), smell. Cons: Wish it included an "on-the-spot" treatment like other acne systems.
After trying several different systems (Proactiv, Arbonne Clear Advantage, Acne Free, etc) that seemed okay in the beginning but eventually made me break out again, I came across the Neutrogena Advanced Solution system. Immediately with the first use of the products, I loved the results. My skin felt instantly smoother and unlike the other products I had tried, this stuff actually smelled pretty good and my skin didn't look red or dry.
I've been using the system for a little over 2 weeks and still absolutely love it. It has gotten rid of these "bumpy skin" patches I had on my forehead and chin, made my skin so much smoother, and significantly decreased the frequency of pimples that were seemingly popping up from no where. Honestly this is the best condition I have seen my face in a while.
