Pros: -Very gentle (even on my fair, sensitive skin)
-Easy to use
Cons: -Expensive for a drugstore brand
-gritty cream can be difficult to wash off completely
I'm only into my 4th day using this product but so far, I am incredibly happy with the results! I have fair skin that tends to develop dry patches on my cheeks and forehead while being oily on my nose and chin. I would use regular exfoliators but my ...

Pros: Smooths skin, diminishes acne scars Cons: Expensive, time consuming
I'm a 24 year old and have pale skin and get a few zits a month. But these zits take forever to go away and then leave a nasty red scar as a reminder. So I was excited to try this to help combat them. I've been using it for a year now and use it ...

Pros: Easy to use. Dramatic results Cons: Haven't found any so far.
Entering the other side of my 40's I was looking for something to give my face a lift. It seems from reading the other reviews that this product doesn't work for everyone, but when it does - boy, does it work! If it helps anyone out there, I am of ...

Great Product!
by bytheseashore ,Oct 02 '05
Pros: Nice set up-easy to clean. Good results without much effort. Cons: Is not fragrance free
I am 53 and have been using scrubs for years. I still have breakouts at my age--but they are prevented by taking old skin cells away with scrubs and microdermabrasion. Office microdermabrasion is great, but terribly expensive. I decided to give this product a try. It has been a week and I feel and see results. It is more thorough than a scrub out of a tube. Not quite as aggressive as an office treatment, but I don't mind if several of the Neutrogena treatments equal one office visit. Who can argue with the savings? Even though it is not my objective, we will see over time if it helps with wrinkles or age spots. I'm happy as long as I keep seeing skin renewal and more brightness to my complexion.

Excellent Drugstore Exfoliator
by onehotmommy ,Sep 27 '05
Pros: Great for smoothing skin. Cons: Time consuming
Excellent skin-smoothing results. I use Apricot Scrub daily, but got much better results after using this product only a few times. Anti-aging? Well... It did lighten my age spots a little, and probably will continue to do so with continued use. Wrinkles, again, slight improvement. The real WOW was my skin's texture after use. Softest it's been in years. Makeup goes on much more smoothly.
Time consuming process. Product a little greasy and difficult to 'splash' away. Used a washcloth to remove the second time around with better results. Not sure if full cleansing after use is appropriate (product says to wash away residue and then apply moisturizer).
Would recommend to anyone who wants heavy-duty exfoliation.

Works well.
by rippon ,Oct 07 '06
Pros: great exfoliator Cons: a bit pricey for at home treatments
I am under 30 and find that this product works well at exfoliating. I have been using it for 2 weeks, just as the package instructions say to and have not had any negative experiences besides slightly dry skin. I have noticed a slight decrease in my "wrinkles" and my 1 sunspot has decreased in diameter. I have noticed an improvement in skin tone as well.

Must Really Make a Difference!
by cagram ,Oct 21 '06
Pros: Improves look and feel of face Cons: Refill cream is pricey
I bought this product after being tempted by Susan Lucci's infomercials for a competing brand. I work for a school district and tried it over my 6 week summer break. Frankly, I couldn't tell much difference. My face felt fine, but at 53, I'm always surprised when I look in the mirror and see and "old" face. I initially was not terribly impressed. When back at work, I had several people ask if I'd done something new. One teacher asked if I was wearing a different make up - I was wearing NONE. She was convinced I'd had "something" done. After several comments of that nature, I surmised that just because I didn't notice it looking daily in the mirror, didn't mean it wasn't effective. I use it about 3 times a week, just before my morning shower. I wash the sponge applicator in the shower and it's ready to go by the next time. I don't find it messy or hard to wash off.

wonderful toy
by myaspace ,Oct 17 '05
Pros: smoother result. small pore Cons: hard to wash off particles.
I did not appreciate the price as a drugstore product but it is o.k.
Not sure that machine was really needed.
One day I took a cosmetic round sponge and used it. The result was nice as well.
Anyhow, I am glad I got it. The result was obvious.

Not worth it in the end
by bluntnhonest ,Oct 12 '06
Pros: one day of clear skin Cons: Break out is likely and the cream is very greasy.
Clear, smooth skin after the first day of use. within the first week my skin broke out and was very irritated. I have lots of small pimple on my face now after three weeks of stopping use.

Great product that is worth the price!
by rhodyramfan ,Feb 04 '06
Pros: Make pores smaller, skin smoother Cons: initial cost to buy all the tools needed, hard to scrub off the cream
This product is great if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg (or just plain out right don't have the time) to go to a spa. At first I was hesitant about purchasing this product because it would not be as effective as a professional microdermabrasion even though it has the Neutrogena brand label on it. I love this product and highly recommend it to anyone! This product is very easy and quick to use. You do not have to keep the cream on your face for very while using the tool (the maximum time recommended is 2 minutes in one area of the face while using the tool).
Overall I do recommend this product except for those people with sensitive skin. The cream could probably irritate their skin and become uncomfortable.

Excellent Results!!
by jazzy_56 ,Nov 09 '06
Pros: Definite improvement in colour, clarity and fine lines after only 4 treatments. Cons: Take a while to wash the product off your face.
I have used the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion system for 4 nights thus far and have seen excellent results. I am 50 years old and luckily my skin has maintained a fairly youthful vitality. The lines across my forehead and temples have smoothed out quite a bit. Even my mild acne scars under my cheeks seem smoother and the redness is gone. There is more brightness and clarity to my skin. The only problem spot which remains is the glabella (the 2 anger lines between my eyes). I guess Botox can only remedy that!!

Great product
by magpie3021 ,Feb 15 '06
Pros: Softer, smoother, breakout-free skin Cons: Somewhat expensive, difficult to remove excess creme after use
I have struggled with occasional acne breakouts since I was in high school. I am now 22, and since I began graduate school in the Fall, I have been under a lot of stress, which has caused my breakouts to increase in severity and frequency. I heard great things about microdermabrasion from friends and though it might help with my skin. When I first broke out in high school, I began using Neutrogena oil-free acne wash, and it made a huge difference. Since then, I've beena big fan of the brand, so even though I have sensitive skin (and was worried microdermabrasion might irritate it), I decided to give this product a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. After the first use, my skin had a rosy, healthy-looking glow, and it felt very smooth. After using the product for about a week, I have noticed a significant decrease in the number of pimples and red spots on my face. My pores look smaller, and my blackheads are gone, too. I would definitely recommend this product. It has really made a big difference for me.

Lightly sands skin
by candaceofchica ,Aug 06 '06
Pros: Easy to use, and does what it should, but lightly. Cons: Not as deep as pro
I was skeptical, but also frugal and having monthly facials wasn't my idea of saving money. So for the price, I tried this and LOVE it. Feel so squeaky clean afterwards, and as I have easy to bruise or mangle skin--it is a delight since it is easy on my aging skin.

Don't be fooled
by cinnamongirl25 ,Dec 08 '07
Pros: a good quick fix Cons: too rough, and is missing suction
Neutrogena tries to market this product as being as good as an in office microdermabrasion but don't be fooled! It did exfoliate for a quick fix, however it was a bit too rough and I found myself with flaky skin. It is missing the suction element of a real microdermabrasion, which is key in cleaning out pores.

Great product but had to go to the eye dr for help
by sandraindallas ,May 31 '06
Pros: Great way to smooth my skin - I will continue to use weekly. Cons: You may end up at the eye doctor -read my review to avoid this.
About 4 a.m. today I awoke with pain in one eye and the feeling that something was in it. After checking a lighted magnifying mirror and finding nothing, I sat around with water running out, then was at the eye dr at 8 when his office opened.
The eye dr removed from under the upper lid one of the small round particles that are in the cream. He said he has a case like this about every 6 weeks since home microdermabrasion became popular.
To avoid this, do a very thorough splashing (not rubbing!) of the face to remove the cream THEN rub your eyebrows, edges of your hairline around your face and your eyelashes to make sure none of the tiny beads are left. One was left somewhere on my face and then in the night ended up in my eye.
I have rosacea, adult acne and seb derm. I use this product a few times a week, a low dose oral antibiotic, Elidel prescrip cream on flaky areas as needed, TNS Recovery complex before bedtime and Skinceuticals' C E Ferulic serum each a.m. before foundation.
