Pros: has a positive effect on many scalp conditions, hair looks good after washing Cons: fragrance, expensive, easy to over-use
It's not bad enough that my hair is baby fine and thin, but every year around the time we turn on our hot-air gas heat, I get a maddening case of dry scalp that doesn't disappear until we turn off the heat sometime in the spring. The only shampoo I ...
Pros: It works; doesn't smell bad; doesn't strip my hair color. Cons: Lots of warnings! Expensive.
We are told that Neutragena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo is dermatologist recommended. In my case thats true. My doctor noticed months ago that my scalp was flaky. She recommended this shampoo. I bough the 4.4 ounces bottle of the Original Formula ...
Pros: Makes the itching stop and the flakes disappear! Cons: Horrible smell and just a tad pricey!
I love wearing black. Not from head to toe mind you, but a piece here or there. Black leather jacket - LOVE it. And with two kids and a dog, well while it might look like it gets dirty quick it doesn't stain as easily as white! Unfortunately for ...
Pros: got rid of my "crabs", leaves hair fresh, clean, manageable Cons: smell, pricey
I hope you liked my title. It goes with a funny story that I will be sharing with you later. I can't wait. The story will be told right now. My little cousin was braiding my hair in the living room when my entire Italian family was watching a movie. ...
Pros: It's great at clearing up the flakes and cleaning the scalp without irritation. Cons: The smell is pretty overwhelming.
The Dilemma
A couple of week's ago, I was combing my seven year old's hair and noticed that he had HUGE chunks of yellow things in his hair. I say things because it didn't look like dandruff. It almost looked like he had...
A while back my husband got involved in a hair loss study for a research company. This was for Propecia, a hair growth stimulator. They wanted him to use a specific shampoo, one that would really clean his scalp since it was his scalp they were ...
Pros: serves it's purpose and alleviates dry itchy scalp Cons: Has a horrible smell and leaves hair feeling dried out.
About 2 years ago, I found myself in search of a good hair care product after an aircraft accident left me over-exposed to chemicals, requiring me to completely change my day to day products. One product that I definitely had to change was my shampoo. ...
Pros: Works fast, easy to use, available pretty much everywhere without a prescription Cons: Could be a bit pricey for some, strong smell
I’ll start out by saying that I’ve had pretty severe dandruff ever since I was a teenager, and needless to say it has been one of the most irritating problems to deal with (alongside acne). I have been looking for years to find something that works on a ...
Pros: Really works! Doesn't weigh hair down Cons: Price; smell takes getting used to
Dry indoor winter heat does a number on my skin, my lips, and my scalp. It's not a happy time for me, especially when the flakes start to appear. Because my hair is so dark, I am very concerned about any signs of flakiness, so I've tried just about every ...
Pros: Only over the counter product that has worked at relieving Winter Scalp Itch. Cons: Fragrance is the smell of the Coal Tar
Every winter when indoor conditions become dry and uncomfortable my scalp becomes irritated and itchy(Winter Itch). As a result I recently started the search for a solution. Currently the most effective products I have found has been Neutrogena T/Gel ...
Pros: Clears up scalp problems, even serious ones. Don't need to use it everyday. Cons: Smell, but you get used to it
I started using this shampoo a couple years ago when I continually had small scabs forming on my scalp, whether it was just dry and I was irritating it by scratching, or I have a condition like psoriasis, I don't know.
The biggest problem with t gel is that the smell is horrible. It smells like moth balls. If you have sensitive skin, you have to be very careful not to get this on your face as well. It made me break out into a rash. But so far, it has soothed my scalp...
This product works well. In the wintertime, like many other people, I develop dandruff. This product helps to get rid of it immediately. I would definately recommend it.
The only down side is the smell. As with other dandruff shampoos, it has a horrible stench, but this one is extremely offensive. It almost takes my breath away.
Pros: It works! Great lather, rinses out well. Cons: Only the price, but that is balanced out by the usage one bottle gives.
I have a very dry, itchy scalp which is usually quite sore. Neutrogena's T-Gel shampoo is the only product I've ever used in 15 years that has managed to not only soothe my scalp but also control and even help to heal it. I wouldn't use another to put it simply.
The first thing you notice about it is the dark colour. I have dark hair so it isn't a problem for me but I'm not sure if it's suitable for blonde hair. If you are fair-haired I would investigate further before buying/using.
The second thing you can't fail to notice is the smell. Personally I love it but it is very strong and probably won't be to everyone's taste. It falls somewhere between freshly laid Tarmac and wood preservative such as Creosote. But this isn't a cosmetic product, and any sweet-smelling conditioner will take away what is left of the smell afterwards.
It's quite a concentrated gel-like substance and lathers up beautifully so a little goes a long way which is a plus point given the price. However, unlike most shampoos that lather and then require 20 minutes of rinsing, this rinses out almost immediately.
