  • Very Smart Flashlight great for emergencies

    Jun 15 '04
Pros: No Batteries, Long life design, LED light, Perfect for emergency lighting
Cons: Limited brightness, a little pricey.

Summary: This review is about the new NightStar II flashlight. I purchased two of them to keep one in the car and one at the house. They seem the ideal solution for emergency light. Im the type that has three Maglights at the house, just about every time I ...

  • Nightstar Shake Flashlight is great as a backup emergency light source

    May 22 '04
Pros: No Batteries Required. Virtually Indestructable. Lasts Forever
    Cons: Expensive. Not very bright.

Summary: A flashlight that converts the shaking of the magnet in a wire coil to electricity and therefore does not need batteries. It uses components that are designed to last at least 10 years. (but most likely forever) Being a Physics major I just could not ...

  • The Original NightStar Flashlight

    Mar 04 '03
Pros: Reliable, Dependable, Sturdy, Secure, Durable, Cool...always there when you need it!
Cons: A bit pricy, but cheaper than a lifetime of batteries and bulbs!

Summary: From what I understand there are a few 'knock off' versions of the NightStar which are all inferior. They only last up to 5 minutes at a time, while the NightStar last 20 full minutes! They have the original patent and are more durable than their...

  • NightStar Flashlight (No batteries!)

    Jan 27 '04
Pros: NO BATTERIES, Waterproof (400 feet), Resistant to Chemicals, Light weight, Tough
Cons: Produces a magnetic field (keep away sensitive electronics), MagLights are brighter

Summary: The NighStar 2 is a really cool environmentally friendly flashlight. When I first received it, I did have to shake it for about 2 minutes... but since then, I've gone over a week without using it and it only required 30 seconds of shaking for 20 minutes ...

  • Express Reviews
  • Probably good, but initially disappointing.

    Dec 01 '03
Pros: Well-constructed, no batteries or light bulbs, watertight.
Cons: Dim, too much shaking needed, very large.

Summary: Simply put, I was excited by the sales pitch, surprised with the large size (my fault), disappointed by the dim beam, and currently skeptical about whether it was worth the money. As a pilot I originally bought this to carry with me as a safety item
