Pros: Responsive cushioning, lightweight, superb traction, and smooth comfort Cons: Not for heavier runners
Nike never fails to impress me! This new running shoe brings a new fold into the game with six Shox columns placed in the heel, instead of the usual four. They have also have FINALLY put a hyper-responsive Zoom Air unit in the forefoot for great touch. ...

Pros: Sturdy shoe. Good for road running. Cons: Not good for trail/beach running. Cushioning is average for heavy runners
I bought these shoes based on articles I read and my old running shoes (NB 827's) had been discontinued. I am a heavy runner (over 200lbs) and wanted a shoe with excellent cushioning. I ordered these shoes on line based on my previous running shoe size ...

disappointed in durability
by stingray17 ,Nov 10 '05
Pros: great support and cushioning, very light weight Cons: durability for the price
After only a few months of wearing the shoes the forefoot was worn through. I only used the shoes for approximately 1 hour (for running/walking)daily. Did not wear them at any other time. Considering the price, I would have expected more wear. I had never had SHOX before and was very pleased with the responsiveness and cushioning. Any other NIKE shoe I'd ever had was quite good, very durable. But here, durability was sadly lacking

A Great Shoe Overall - But watch for heel wear
by ed_in_st_louis ,Aug 27 '06
Pros: Great fit, cushioning and stability for a relatively light shoe. Cons: Heels can wear out quickly if you tend to do that to your shoes.
I bought these shoes to train for and run in a marathon, and I did just that. I like everything about them - fit, comfort, cushioning, "feel of the road", etc. BUT, the heel just wears out too quickly for someone like me who drags their heel or is a heavy heel striker.
I solved the problem but applying shoe goo to the heel area. (Which is a hassle) There was a company that sold a product that was sort of like a heel pad you glued on that would last for weeks but I was told they're no longer around. Each Shoe goo application is good for about 20-30 miles.
I also quickly stopped using them to just walk around in. I have short legs and try to compensate with a long stride which means the heel gets a lot of wear.
By using the goo I've been able to make them last as long as any other shoe I've owned (12 months) but had to start using the goo after only three months.

Not Worth The $$
by randyhatcher ,Jan 14 '05
Pros: Look cool. Comfortable. Cons: The bottoms show wear after just a month on a 10-year old boy's foot.
We bought a pair of Shox 2:45 for our 10-year old son and the bottoms show quite a bit of wear after only a month. I'm disappointed that they didn't hold up a little better for the price.
