Pros: Optical quality, ED glasses, AF-S & IF features, non-rotating front barrel, compact & light
Cons: high distortion at wide angle and telephoto, plastic body construction

Pros: Sharpness, fast focusing, lightness, very good for DSLR.
Cons: Hard distortion at edges for film camera, G type, plastic body.
Summary: This is a very good lens: I use it with my Nikon D100 as general purpose lens. Its autofocus is fast and accurate, and its lightness makes it suitable for shooting in every situation. It gives images with very good sharpness and a good contrast.

Pros: Small and fast focusing,
Cons: Requires an AF-S compatible body (N-80, F100, F5, D1, D100, S2Pro, etc)
Summary: This lens offers fast ultrasonic focusing and renders colorful, snappy images. I was much more impressed with its performance over Nikon's 24-120, which I found had contrast issues that gave the pictures a dull appearance.

Pros: Super fast focusing, lightweight, low cost, low distortion
Cons: Less range than other zooms, odd filter size
Summary: I bought this lens for my D100, since my older glass didn't give me the range I wanted with the D-series 1.5x magnification factor. That makes this an equivalent 35-130 lens, which I find great for portraits and general snapshots.

Pros: A specialty lens by Nikon that can also double as your standard 35mm wide angle.
Cons: Stop down metering; loss of a few frames while you adapt to this lens.
