I bought the Nikon 10x42 Monarch ATB from Binoculars.com. They're friendly, knowledgeable and very nice people to deal with.

I did a fair amount of research and these looked like what I wanted. They're light weight, good features (fog/water/shock proof) and most importantly, they have great optics. With Nikon's super warrantee and Binoculars.com price, it made this a package that I couldn’t pass up.
I took them right up to a place called Hawk Ridge in Duluth, MN and they performed better than I expected.

Pros: Optics, quick focus, price, warrantee!
Cons: Padded cash could be a little larger

I researched binoculars for some time, even purchased several different brands to see what they were like and how they compared.

With the 10x magnification and the 42 light opening and a 314 @ 1,000 yard view. There is nothing better for the money. The clarity is incredible, quick focus, adequate padded case. The best thing to consider is that for $10.00 Nikon will replace them, that is the best warrantee I have seen with any brand.

The size is good, they are light which helps with long term viewing.

You won't be disappointed! But don’t take my word for it, do your own comparison and see for yourself.

After reading a lot of on-line reviews I bought the Nikon's and I couldn't be happier. They have an excellent in-the-hand feel, they are very light compared to competitive models, very small in size for 10x42's, the optics are A-1 for this price point and the 100% coverage warranty is terrific; hopefully I will never have to use it.

I am sticking with Nikon from now on.

I had a pair of 2 year old Bushnell 10x42 Trophy models that one of the cats knocked to the floor from the coffee table in Nov 05. Bushnell would not repair them under warranty. It also took them 45 days days to get back to me. they didn't respond to voice-mails or e-mails prior to that;really terrible service. Given I own many Bushnell rifle scopes, including expensive Elite 3200/4200 series ones, I will no longer buy Bushnell products.
