Summary: Nikon announced Coolpix 5700 in May 2002 and it was targeting the prosumer market or people who look for fairly powerful all-in-one camera without extra investment for SLR. First-of-all, I¡¦m just a beginner/amateur photographer and this review is ... read more

Pros: Great infrared photography, looks nice, trendy brand name. Cons: Incomprehensible menus, buttons in strange places, terrible autofocusing - manual is even worse.
Summary: I bought the 5700 to allow me more flexibility and creativity and as a step up from my Canon Powershot S500. After trying to use it for a year, I've decided to abandon it in favor of a digital SLR (a Canon 20D) since it hasn't really met my expectations. ... read more

Pros: Very versatile, easy to master, great optics, excellent results. Cons: Not much.. battery life could be better and a bigger memory card would be nice.

Pros: Great lens, good resolution Cons: A pig to use. I've given it a very harsh 1 star for that reason.
Summary: A camera is an instrument, the user sees the photo, the user composes the photo and the user hits the shutter release. Great for point & shoots. A proper camera has a whole host of user functions that can be arranged to suit any application. ... read more
