Pros: High resolution pictures, decent-sized LCD. Great battery life Cons: Overly menu driven, requires memorizing the manual to use all features.
When my Pentax Optio 330 RS digital camera was stolen this summer, I was annoyed, but it was a great opportunity to replace the digital camera, and get higher mega-pixel quality for less than I had paid before. Amazon was having an amazing price break ...
Pros: Features, ease of use, good pictures, LCD screen
Cons: Expensive, poor manual
I have always been a fan of the Nikon brand of cameras and that goes back to the days before we knew what digital cameras even were. I have an older model standard Nikon and a three year old digital version that I liked a lot at the time. Of course I ...
Pros: Small, light, nice LCD screen size, good flash, D-Lighting is fantastic. Cons: I could wish it had the 2.5" LCD screen.
I'm only an amateur photographer, not a complete newbie to digital cameras but not highly experienced either. This is my second digital camera - my first was a Pentax Optio 30, a 3MP, which took very nice pictures. But I learned, fairly early on, a few ...
Pros: Small but not tiny, Sports mode, nice pictures, great movies Cons: Too many functions buried in menus. Not loving the charger.
I agonized for at least a week over this latest digital camera purchase. I had narrowed it down to the Nikon Coolpix 5900 and the Canon SD300. Both cost about the same, both are small, and both have 2.0" LCD screens. The Canon only has 4.0 megapixels ...
Pros: Great colors, Size, Good battery, Easy to use,
Features, Price, Exceptional picture quality Cons: Small power button, Does not come with much memory
We researched about which camera to purchase for many months before deciding on the Nikon CoolPix 5900. Let me just say we were not disappointed. We are by no means experts but we know what we like and we love this model. We chose this camera due ...
Pros: Price ($250), Nikon name, glass lens, solid construction, awesome pictures. Cons: No memory stick included with the camera, you have to buy your own.
I purchased this camera from Abes of Maine. Abes is a pretty decent NYC based store (apparently they used to be located in Maine before 1986), they had the lowest price anywhere but when you order, they try to upsell you on accesories by making you call ...
Pros: Easy to use, very small, larger LCD, menu system Cons: Focus a bit rusty sometimes.
It all started a few weeks ago when I took film from my traditional camera in for developing. When I got it back nearly all the pictures were blurry. I decided I needed a digital so I could preview the pictures before developing them. I did quite a ...
Pros: Great size, easy to hold, unlimited video length, fun scene modes Cons: No manual settings, only 3x zoom
I bought this camera in September after losing my last digital camera. I really shopped around because having had a digital camera already I knew what I liked and what I didn't like. This camera offered unlimited video length (based on memory card size) ...
Pros: the picture quality is outstanding Cons: lens does not take very wide-angle pics.
I bought this to replace the Nikon 995--a great camera but large. The quality of pics produced by the camera was better than most I have seen. This camera (the 5900) also takes great pics. The pics are bright and the various modes work reasonably well.
What was amazing to me was how long the battery lasts. I bought another battery as backup but it is totally not necessary. I took well over 150 pics on a 3-week trip to Spain, using the camera to show most of them to friends since I did not have my computer with me. And never had to recharge the battery.
I wish the lens were better, and could take wider-angle pics. This camera is comparable with others of its size and price but I'd be willing to pay more for a better lens on the same sized camera.
It is light and portable as well.
Pros: Light, easy to hold, nice size (not too big/small), decent lens. Cons: Not the most durable digital camera, could use more memory
OK, I confess to being a Contax fan and smitten with Zeiss lenses, so departing from that formula was a leap of faith. However, with the Nikon, the price was right and it had all the features I was looking in a digital camera.
So far I'm really impressed with the pictures I'm getting out of this camera. Although I wish the 5900 felt less "delicate" I do like the size (it's not too small, so if you have big hands you'll appreciate this.)
The 5900 accommodates point-and-shoot situations nicely. The menuing system is rather convoluted, but I can live with it given the results and versatility of the camera.
If you are looking for a good digital that takes excellent shots for a decent price, you won't regret the Nikon 5900.
Pros: like a puppy in the pet shop all cute and cuddly Cons: pees all over your house STAY AWAY from NIKON you've been warned
Camera broke - died one month outside warranty - Nikon asked for $165 to fix. Told them to throw it against a brick wall. Their products are almost as bad as their service.
Pros: Light, easy, high quality Cons: kind of pricey
I really am so pleased with this camera. The quality is great - it has lots of features and i couldn't be happier with the ease of use. (for a dumb contractor believe me - it needs to be easy!)
I am going to buy some of these for my sub contractors so that they can take pictures during the job to create a better "story" of building our homes.
5.0-megapixel CCD captures enough detail for for photo-quality 13 x 17-inch prints 3x optical zoom through a quality Zoom-Nikkor lens (zoom is equival...More at Amazon Marketplace
