Pros: Price, WiFi, large and fluid LCD, fast zooming, performance, features, build quality Cons: Weak flash
Selling for less than $240, the Nikon Coolpix P2 features 5.1-Megapixel resolution, a large 2.5-inch LCD screen, WiFi connectivity and a host of other attractive features. I bought mine for $235. Let's see how it performs. Pictures I took ...

Pros: Wireless image tranfser, 5.1 megapixels, 3.5x optical zoom, rechargable li-ion battery, loads of features Cons: Slightly bulky, default focus assist is blinding
Is the Nikon Coolpix P2 the best digital camera out there? No, but it just might be the best camera at the contentious $200 price point. 5.1 megapixels, wireless wi-fi picture transfer, a bright, large LCD, and a host of features make it a bargain ...

Pros: Wireless transfer from camera to PC, lithium ion battery,
fast shutter speed
Cons: relatively low megapixels, zoom works well, but would prefer a 10X optical zoom.
I've had this camera for almost 2 years now and I still love it. It takes great photos, the colors are so true to life. The shutter speed is also great, I have a young daughter who moves around quickly and the photos are always crisp and clear. The ...

Totally Happy With My New Camera!
by lovedchicago ,Apr 20 '06
Pros: Comes with USB cable, picture software, battery & charger, and camera strap. Cons: Buy a camera case to prevent scratching.
I really like this website. I purchased the Nikon Coolpix P2 after reading the reviews here. It's a great camera! The view screen is very large and clear when taking a picture. It's very easy to download the pictures as well. I just use the USB cord to download mine. I purchased a memory card so now I can store many pictures on my camera. The settings are easy to change. It came with a battery and I just charge it beforehand (it takes 2 hours to fully charge) when I know I am going to be using the camera. I would recommend buying a camera case...my view screen got a scratch on it from putting it in my purse. I paid about $215 (tax included) @ Wal-Mart for my camera and it was worth every penny! Highly recommended.

Lens Cap Doesn't Open
by dmahony65 ,Sep 23 '06
Pros: Photos were great Cons: Failure to honor warranty
I loved this camera until the lens cap stopped opening. To make things worse, Circuit City, where I bought it (along with a $90, 2 year, whatever happens to it we'll fix it guarantee) refused to fix it and told me to send it to Nikon. So, I have sent it to Nikon (at my expense and inconvenience) and am awaiting there response. On the phone, they were already hedging by telling me there would be fees for this and fees for that.
Camera was great for three months but I will never do business again with companies that do not honor their warranties with a smile.

A great Point & Shoot camera...
by saldanha ,Sep 02 '06
Pros: Cheap, Huge 2.5" LCD, 14x total zoom, videos, built in mic+spkr. Cons: WiFi setup is very difficult if you use a router.
It comes with a USB cable, a software disk, lanyard, rechargeable battery + charger. I've had it for a couple months and really like it so far. It works very well, but does not include VR (Vibration Reduction like the newer P-series cameras P3 & P4). I really like the wifi features, b/c I never have to plug the camera into the computer. If you use a wireless router though, it takes A LOT of work to get the wifi configured. I was on the phone with Nikon's tech support (which was actually based in North America - yay) for almost an hour, until I had the camera ready to upload pics to my laptop. The wifi doesn't have a very wide range (must be in same room as router). Besides the difficult setup, I love this camera. It's easy to use, and has a HUGE 2.5" lcd that which is totally awesome. It's got a really nice 3.5X optical zoom (plus 4x digital for a total of 14X). For this price $179 @ CircuitCity, there's really NO other camera that gives you this much bang for your buck.

Great Camera - wifi only works with XP SP1 >
by ragregory ,Oct 06 '05
Pros: Picture quality is good. Movies turn out well Cons: wifi doesn't work with Windows 2000
I bought this camera because of the ease of use, nice screen, vga resolution movies at 30 fs and the wifi connectivity.
Everything lived up to what I expected but the wifi won't work with Windows 2000. The camera itself does and the requirements on the box list Windows 2000 as being compatible with this camera.

A brilliant little camera!
by marc_wilde ,Dec 24 '05
Pros: Easy to use, good picture quality, great screen, nice comfortable size, good features. Cons: Hard to focus when dark
Takes good quality outdoor and bright shots, although falls slightly when taking dark indoors shots. The zoom is fast and good at (3.5x optical) and the pictures come out very well in 5.1 megapixels.
Very clear and big screen but there's no viewfinder so you'll have to rely on the screen's pretty good performance when in sunlight or bright rooms.
Wi-Fi works pretty well and features are pretty standard but work well.
Other good things such as the camera turns on and takes photos quickly, flash works well etc.

Digital cam newcomers... this is your cam to buy!!
by vegastony ,Jun 18 '06
Pros: large view screen, easy to use, quick zoom, lots of good features. Cons: I have not been able to find any cons with this camera at this time.
The Nikon Coolpix P2 has been great. The pictures and mpegs are clean and the camera has a scene setting that makes it easy for first timers like myself. It's completely loaded with other features as well. I highly recommend it to anyone that's looking for a digital camera.
