Pros: Great camera, awesome pictures, 10 megapixels, very versatile. Cons: Expensive, lots of features to learn.
Summary: I purchased this camera/lens in October 2007. I must say that after reading the owners manual, I was more confused than I was before about the operation of the camera. After going through some basic camera classes, I am now very confident in the ... read more

Pros: Ease of use, quality of photos, freedom to take numerous photos in short timeframe. Cons: Manual focus mode takes a little time to learn but the results are worth it.
Summary: Before purchasing this camera, we had gone through numerous point and clicks from both Kodak and Sony. I always found myself disappointed with the ability to take numerous shots in a short period of time as well as the quality and consistency of the ... read more

Pros: Color, Focus, Burst Mode, Wireless Flash Support, Auto ISO, View Finder, Ergonomics Cons: Metering, No CF
Summary: The D80 is a good, but not great DSLR. The big issue I have with this camera, and one you will find discussed a lot on the web, is with the metering. For anyone who doesn't know what metering is, it is the the camera's ability to evaluate light and ... read more

Pros: Outstanding picture quality and a goodly set of convenience features. Cons: Tends to overexpose, loss of a star.
Summary: Without question this is the best under $500 SLR body value available today. The bundled 18-55 mm lens makes it an amazing package. Image quality is amazing and except for a small quirk noted below, the camera works well even in "Program" mode. It has ... read more

Pros: Long battery life, fast auto zoom, clear pics with kit lens Cons: Eventually, photo imaging software needed to get the most out of your pictures.
Summary: I'll start of by stating that I am not a professional photographer, but more like a pro-hobbyist who enjoys photography. I am a father who wants to truly enjoy the "life" of the photos that I take. I am also a police detective who decided that the ... read more

Pros: Light. Quick. Inexpensive. Quality and quantity that won't break the bank. Cons: Light. No top LCD. Small frame. Almost obsolete thanks to D40x.
Summary: I've been shooting with my D40 for about a month now and I have to say I'm not as disappointed as I thought I'd be. Sounds weird saying it like that, but I was planning on getting the D80. When I settled for the D40 I was afraid I'd be settling too ... read more

Pros: Fantastic quality, features, battery life - can't get much better! Cons: Small learning curve, accessories needed for best quality. Auto mode could take better night shots.

Pros: A HUGE upgrade vs. the D70. Great price/performance ratio Cons: lack of electronic shutter for faster flash synch
Summary: I have to say that the release of the D80 didn't really make a huge splash on the camera scene. I think that's pretty sad because the D80 is not only a worthy successor to the D70 but I strongly feel that it's the first DSLR good enough to be your LAST ... read more

Summary: The Nikon D40 with 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 AF-S AF lens is this company's bare bones entry level offering in the extremely volatile digital SLR market. As the two giants of the industry, Canon and Nikon vie for an ever increasing slice of the dSLR pie, Nikon ... read more
