by GregRadiohead , Dec 31 '01
Pros: Brilliant gameplay and atmosphere; graphics.
Cons: Some AI issues; can become tedious.
Remember how before Gamecube came out, they were talking about how it would be innovative, yet carry on the DNA of established Nintendo franchises? I believed the term for all of this was 'The Nintendo Difference.' Well, if Pikmin is an example of this,...

by shadowhedgehog , Apr 26 '03
Pros: Fun, challenging and tricky
Cons: A bit short, and clumsy Pikmin that fall behind
This addictive game came out shortly after the GameCube's debut, and I was among the masses who saw it and contemplated its purpose. I didn't get a GameCube until very recently, however, and even more recently did I get Pikmin. The game's basic plot is ...

Great Adventure Game

by gamecubefrek , Mar 18 '02
Pros: Each of the Pikmin have a cool resistance.
Cons: You have a time limit, and you die in water.
My name is Captain Olimar... I've crash-landed on a strange planet. My ship is in pieces-my only hope for survival lies with odd creatures I call Pikmin. Pikmin fight fiercely and in great numbers. They can vanquish the monstrous predators of this...

What were they thinking?

by turantulas , Mar 12 '03
Pros: Good graphics.
Cons: Everything else.
First off, this was the most awful game I have ever played. The storyline is stupid, and so is the rest of the game.
Why on earth would anybody want to walk around all day just controlling a bunch of carrot like figures. I know I wouldn't.

Pikmin: 4 out of 5

by brclarke , Dec 19 '01
Pros: Deep gameplay with lovely graphics.
Cons: Despite 'kiddy' looks, it's meant for a mature audience.
In Pikmin, you play an astronaut who has crash-landed on an unfamiliar alien planet. Your spaceship is too badly damaged to escape the planet, and pieces of salvagable debris are scattered widely across the planet.

At first the situation...

Pikmin? Carrots?

by gravebane , Mar 03 '02
Pros: This game has a low learning curve, and can be played by almost everyone.
Cons: None, it is an excellent game, but low playing time.
It is incredible the way Miyamoto put this game together. Imagine this you are a little man the size of a quarter and you are flying through space, with me so far? Then all of a sudden your ship is hit by a flying comet and you are knocked to the ground...

Marooned On A Distant World...

Pros: A wonderful game, and without the gore and carnage... how nice!
Cons: Hmmm... well, maybe no gore and carnage?
My son and I have been playing Pikmin since he got the GameCube - and five game titles - for Christmas. It has probably received more play-time than any of the others.

Pikmin is the name Captain Olimar gives to the funny little...

Pros: uuummmm....... it has good graphics!
Cons: OUCH! THERE IS TOO MANY TOO NAME THEM ALL!!!!!!
This game I thought was going to be just plain awesome but it was not at all. Or maybe it is because I was expecting something more fun and I just about went insane when I played it for the first time. My extreme smile went to an extreme frown.

Amusing Visual Candy with Strategy
by tweedledux ,Dec 05 '05
Pros: Easy to learn, addictive, charmingly fun.
Cons: Can be a little repetitious.
A cute little game where you crash land on a planet, scattering the pieces of your ship. You need to find the pieces with the help of little plantlike creatures that do your bidding - everything from killing enemies to carrying ship pieces. There are three different creatures, each with their own specific ability. The red ones are immune to fire, blue are aquatic, and yellow can carry bombs.

The gameplay is easy to learn and the visual options give the player a variety of different perspectives. A practice mode enables the player to work on different strategies, perfecting the method that best works for him/her. Also nice that the game isn't just search and destroy, but plenty to figure out along the way.
