Nitto NT555R II Extreme Passenger/Performance Tire

Pros: By far the best bang for your hard earned bucks.
Cons: This isn't the spec tire for my racing club. Pity.

This is a great road race tire. Incredibly sticky yet hard enough to last more than a couple of races. My set was heat cycled to extend the performance life. Raced at Sears Point, CA (technical) and Reno, NV (fast) with equally impressive results. The tires came up to operating temperature on the warm up lap and were ready to go. When abused and overheated, the tire quickly came back to full performance when given a half a lap of somewhat sane racing to cool down. Performance was best when run 1.5 to 2 pounds over normal air pressures to start. Temps and pressures stabilized after 1st session of the day and were rock solid all day long. Haven't raced these in the rain yet. Looking forward to it.
