Is it as sexy as everyone says it is?

by amandaw99 , Mar 27 '01
Pros: small size, vibrating battery, 2-way text messaging, download ringers/icons
Cons: gets too hot, battery life isn't that great
Before I write about my new Nokia 8260 phone I just wanted to say that I have taken a break from epinions while they got their new site in order. Now that it's up and running somewhat smoothly, I'm baaaaccccck.

Why was I phone...

by ye110man , Dec 18 '00
Pros: Email, SMS, size, downloadable ringtones, builtin vibrator, included headset
Cons: no internet. hard to find and change faceplates
I've had this cell for 2 months now and I love it. It have it for AT&T and after signing a new contract and getting rid of my old nokia 6260. I was also looking into the 8290 for Voicestream and Motorola V series for Sprint.
Here is what I like...

One Awesome Phone

by thymeria , Oct 13 '00
Pros: Small, stylish, tons of features
Cons: Haven't found one yet
I think I am obsessed with this phone. After waiting for the whole summer, and checking the Nokia website every other week, the 8260 was finally available in mid September. I brought mine, the electric blue one, from AT&T Wireless the same week...

Want a small functional phone?

by boytechie , Oct 29 '01
Pros: Small size, great looks, nice features (vibrates) without the need of a second battery.
Cons: Not customizable physically. (ring tones and graphics don't count.)
The ironic part of owning such a phone as the 8260 is really the size vs. the functionality that some other phones might have but sacrifice on size. The ease of use in navigation is definitely a sure thing with it's familiar software and interface that...

Pros: GREAT FEATURE- VIBRATING BATTERY/BUILT IN ANTENNA
Cons: SCREENS CRACK, BE CAREFUL!
YOU CAN PROBABLY TELL THAT THE WIRELESS WORLD IS MOVING AT A FAST PACE.( UNLESS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT OVERSEAS!)THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT WE ARE THREE YEARS BEHIND, BUT WE WILL BE CATCHING UP SOON. THE NOKIA 8260 HAS BEEN OUT IN THE AT&T WIRELESS STORES...

Small, Light, and Sexy!

by valdameers , Mar 01 '01
Pros: small, light, new features, and very cool looking
Cons: with internal antenna the reception isn't as good as other models!
This phone is really awesome. This is my fourth Nokia phone that I've had the last two years and this is by far the best one. I've gone through my share of cell phones as I've said, starting with a monsterous trac-phone model of the Nokia. Then I used...

Size matters!

by majesty8 , Jan 04 '02
Pros: Size, clarity, ease of use.
Cons: Size? Price, aftermarket accessories
I thought I'd never buy a cell phone as my lifestyle never really justify needing one. I have come across several occasions where I wish I really had one though, and thus broke down and purchased a wireless phone and service. Based on my lifestyle, I...

WOW!! It's finally here.

by ashtontt , Oct 19 '00
Pros: Tiny, stylish, lots of features, and inexpensive
Cons: No interchangeable face plates, voice recognition.
I've waited for this phone to be available in the U.S all summer long. And now it's finally here. It is a great phone and well worth the wait.
The size of this thing is just amazing. It is smaller than the pager I got for work, and I can just...

Shades of Star Trek! A *Real* Personal Communicator!

by caradoc Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Mar 12 '01
Pros: Tiny, decent battery life, good reception.
Cons: TINY! Hard to use keypad sometimes. Lacks some features.
I had a Nokia 5260 for about two years, and decided that it was simply too big and bulky to keep carrying (although a large part of that bulk was the "extended battery" that kept it alive for a month or so without recharging...)

In December,...

Great Phone

by steelers79 , Dec 17 '00
Pros: Compact, reliable, and durable
Cons: Internal antennae
First I must admit I am a electronics gadget freak. Once I saw the Nokia 8260 I wanted to get it right away. I have had my phone for 2 months now and have not experienced only minor numbers of dropped calls. The only real problems I have had is when I...

The Mercedes of Cell Phones

by glacier , Mar 28 '01
Pros: Small, Handy, Good Operation, Monster Battery Life
Cons: Button Size, Learning Curve
I was an late adapter to cell phone technology. Being in Alaska, I was never more than 20 minutes from contact, so I didn't see the need for cellular service. Add to that the higher rates we see in the 49th state and you might see why I didn't really...

Alas, there are no perfect phones.

by DianaValerie , Oct 20 '00
Pros: size, features, easy to use menu, weight, sophistication
Cons: size, battery life
I, like half the people who use cell phones, have been waiting impatiently all summer for the new Nokia 8260 to come out. I had had it with my old Ericsson, which weighs about two pounds, has no battery life to speak of, is not ergonomic to hold,...

Pure style and true mobility

by mcverbs , Dec 23 '00
Pros: small size, light weight, cool colors, great sound, easy to use
Cons: electromagnetic interference with other devices
This is the second mobile phone I have ever had -- the first was a thick Motorola StarTac that I used a few years ago, that was just for my work.
After going without a cell phone for a couple of years, I finally got a Nokia 8260 for myself, for...

Size DOES Matter...

by RBradford , Mar 14 '01
Pros: Small Size, Two-way Text Messaging, E-Mail Function, Cool Look.
Cons: Small Size.
As fate would have it, I had just purchased a new extended life battery and headset for my Nokia 6160 phone when it stopped working. You would think that it should hold up better to being dropped a couple of hundred times. But for some reason, the "Send"...

Pros: Superb reception, ease of use, extra long battery life.
Cons: Impossible on/off button, ringer not loud enough
Thie Nokia has so many good features that its hard to find where to start. Let me just start by saying that I never believed I could find a better deal that my former Motorola ST 7797...was I ever so wrong...
