Pros: Excellent quality, comfort, and efficiency of shave. Short adjustment period. Cons: Crappy protective cover. Charging procedure.
After many irritating weeks of razor burn, acne, cuts, an nicks I decided to finally "throw in the towel" with my old Mach 3 and give the electrics a try. Now, I was VERY apprehensive since I tried this 12 years ago (for about 1 week) and ended up ...
Pros: Quiet, close shave, excellent battery usage, easy to clean. Cons: Can't think of any.
I've been using a double edge razor for over 30 years but I wanted to get away from the mess of shaving cream and clogging up the sink drain over time. Several years ago I briefly tried a Braun foil shaver and was not satisfied with its ability to shave...
Pros: Quiet; Built-in trimmer; No cuts. Cons: Not as close as blade; Annoying accessories.
Used shaver for 2 weeks now. Works well overall. Certainly not as close as a blade, sometimes I shave again if I am going out for evening. Tackles 4 day beard well but sometimes leaves a single hair here and there which must be attempted over and ...
Pros: Great shave, long charge Cons: can't shave while charging
I like many others used your typical double edge Bic shaver for most of my life. I then bought an electric shaver some 5 years or so ago and got real accustomed to using nothing but that. However whenever I didn't shave for a few days my beard tended to ...
Pros: great shaver, close shave, great battery life INDICATOR Cons: wish the battery life could be a little longer but it's not a problem though
bought this shaver after i used a Braun twister 370.
this Norelco shaver is a great shaver, does everything and then some.
Just an update from my previous review on this shaver...
well, since then i have tried the cool wave 7775 the wet / dry from norelco and also the norelco 8894 XL Bond shaver.
i got rid of all of them and went back to the quadra 7865XL, this shaver has the closest shave out of all 3 that i have tried and the other 2 are all well above $130 us.
Quadra 7865XL is an excellent shaver and i fully recommend this shaver to anyone.
Pros: Attractive, solid, great shave, easy to clean and charge. Cons: Just the case - but who cares
Got this shaver after researching quite a bit. After a month of use, this is the best shaver I've used in 20 years of using electric shavers, and 15 years with a blade before that. The heads are universally gimbaled to move with the contours of your face. After a weekend of no shaving, this shaver attacked the Monday beard with no problems or pulling. I like the 5 lights indicating whether the charge is 100%, 80%, etc. And a red light goes on when it gets below 20%. This takes all the guesswork out of when to charge. It takes 4 hours to charge and cleaning is a breeze since the head can just be rinsed. Before this I had a cheaper Norelco, a cheap Remington triple. And before that, I had a better Norelco that lasted 15 years. This model appears to be solid and attractive and has a nice stand with a clock built in. The case is worthless.
Worth what I paid for it !!!! It is great. by nelson31 ,Jan 29 '05
Pros: Great price and just a great Shaver !!!! Cons: I have not found one yet and don't think I will.
I am 31 years old and have been using the throw away razors since I started shaving. I have wanted to try a electric for quite some time. But I have been told that they don't last long or they give you razor burn and you get what you pay for in a electric Shaver. I tried it out this morning and I could not get over how well this shaver worked. I did get a little bit of a burn and the insturction's said you might but in short amount of time your skin and hair will adjust and that's why they have the 60 day money back guaranteed!!! This shaver has changed my mind and it is worth every penny I paid for it. Easy to clean use and just a great shaver !!!!!
Pros: It has a fast charge & is easy to hold Cons: Has a slow rotation speed for its heads
I found this shaver to be one of the worst I have ever owned. The shaver itself is nice, but what I do not care for is the actual shave. The heads rotate so slow even though it is fully charged. It feel like every hair is being ripped out. It is to the point that my face is now quite sensitive and I have never had this problem in the past with other shavers.
Pros: close shave, great price ,rinses under faucet, light weight, quiet when operating it,led shows battery life! Cons: none
Well i have always wanted to get a electronic shaver for a long time now. I had done my research and noticed this 7865 had gotten good reviews and it seemed to offer all the options i wanted from it! It rinses right under the sink, all the hair gets caught in this hair chamber so you dont get hair everywhere ; it gave me a shave like a regular razor would have given me which totally shocked me. Definately give your skin time to adapt since the shave is very close you need to give your skin time to get use to the machine, it tells you that in the instructions also. i paid 100 for it at bestbuy and got a 2 year plan for 10 bucks so if anything goes wrong i can get a new one. Overall if you are looking for a good replacement for that regular razor ; you would like to get yourself a electric shaver i definately suggest purchasing the norelco 7865; i give it a 10 out of 10 i love it what a great shaving experience!
Pros: Quiet, Close Shave, No mess!! Cons: Not as close as a blade!!..:(
As far electric razors go, i was amazed how smooth my face was after the first time i used it. Not to mention how easy it was to clean. Just pop open the top and tap it on the inside of the sink and then run a little water over the blades and wohla! I like the way it feels in my hand as well, it just feels comfortable. I'm 37 and tried a panasonic wet/dry electric razor when i was 23. I got razor burn, it even cut my face some. So i spoke to a fellow electric razor user and he said, bro you have to use powder and it will be fine. So i tried powder and it was only a tiny bit better but still hurt. It even felt like it was pulling the hair right out..lol Needless to say it was not a pleasant experience.
Works Better than I had hoped! by officerhileman ,Jan 02 '05
Pros: nice design, close shave, long lasting battery life Cons: Cons??.... Hmm???
I did all the research before I told my wife that this is the one I wanted for Christmas. I used it for the first time and just as the instructions said, I got a little razor burn. I used it again the next day and had less burn, by the 4th day, I was hooked! No razor burn and an extremely close shave. Actually, the shave is closer than I had expected...it really is as smooth as a traditional razor.
Pros: clean smooth shave, good battery life Cons: cannot keep it running, frequent repairs
This is my 3rd or 4th (Norelco) triple headed shaver. I have used them for over 30 years and been very pleased. I love it when it works. Unfortunately, it has had to go to repair after less than a year of use, TWICE!! Both times, it took the Norelco authorized repair shop a couple of months to fix and return. Now it has quit the third time. They have replaced circuit board, switch, battery--everything. The first 2 repairs were covered under warranty, now it is my problem. I'm pretty sure this is a lemon, but supposedly the repair shop has replaced everything 2 times. No satisfaction. After the first repair, I stopped running water to clean it out. I still run the heads through running water, but only after detaching from body of shave. Anyone else having problems?
