Pros: Virus protection is still topnotch Cons: Installation, speed and support are all nightmarish
The early returns are in: the decline and fall of the Norton product line continues. This is my third review of a Norton AntiVirus product. Each time out, it gets harder to find items for the "Pro" section and easier to find "Con"s.
Pros: Comprehensive protection with reliable live updates. Simply the BEST ! Cons: Can't protect you from being stupid.
I have owned many other brands of Antivirus software over the years but Norton Antivirus has emerged on top for the last several years. In fact I have used it exclusively for about 5-7 years. I have seen very few problems years ago but Norton has refined...
Pros: Full Protection, also with MS Office, MS Outlook, AIM, Yahoo, MSN Messengers Cons: Slow scans, 1 year subscription for virus updates

Symantec's Norton Antivirus 2003
As one computer mind once said, Anti-virus is good for a prevention use only. This may be true, but when the antivirus is good until the actual bug/virus comes, then it defeats the whole purpose....
Norton Antivirus (NAV) for years has been the premiere software package in its category. It includes e-mail, instant message, and complete disk scanning for viruses. Virus definitions and software updates are kept current via...
Pros: good against most viruses, features like email scanning Cons: compatibility issues with some operating systems
I've been a Norton anti-virus/Systemworks user for years. I recently saw this upgrade at BestBuy and decided to try it out.
I'ts a new version - it should be better - and faster - right ? No.
I expected a new look and feel, and improvement in...
Pros: Great virus protection abilities, easy install, reliable. Cons: Worst technical support of any software company I've ever dealt with.
While I really like their product, Symantec's undoing will be their tech support structure. I work in the IT business, and they by far have the worst support of a software company I've ever seen.
Pros: none, believe me Cons: Do not even try this product!
Maybe I'm a slow learner, or just don't take a hint, but after having to rebuild my hard drive and Windows 98 system last year due to Norton Antivirus 2002, I swore I wouldn't touch one of their products again. True to form however, I went out and...
Pros: Easy install. Has broad levels of detection. Cons: Subscription for renewal will expire from initial install on prior machine.
I am writing the review on the Norton Anti-Virus 2003 release.
The 2003 release of Norton's Anti-Virus has some functional improvements relating to configurtion and rapid registration of the software.
Pros: One of the biggest in the business. Cons: No auto update feature. A bit slower than McAfee.
Before starting to use Norton I used McAfee Antivirus 6. My McAfee expired and decided to try Norton for a while.
My opinions are comparing with the McAfee version I had.
Installation

Norton is easier to install....
Pros: Easy to keep up to date using the automatic settings Cons: Seems to slow down my computer a bit.
I was reinstalling Windows 2000 on my machine and decided to try the new Norton Antivirus software. Until now, I had been using a copy of Mcafee and I wanted a comparision between the two before I went out and bought a copy. After an easy install, the...
Pros: Awesome interface. Live update. Cons: Doesn't do a thing about spyware or most hard drive internet worms.
Norton has once again come out with an awesome product for the average computer user. Its quick, easy, doesn't take up a ton of computer resources and finds/removes most of the common virii out there. Anyone, regardless of computer experience, can use it...
Pros: Fast Updating, Auto-Protect for increased protection Cons: Slow scans
If you want full, easily-updated virus protection, Norton Antivirus 2003 is right for you. This program is very easy to use and doesn't require any programming skills whatsoever. This version of Norton Antivirus includes Auto-protect, which protects your...
Pros: Fast Running

Norton Antivirus is viewed by many as the king of Anti-Virus. They have it all! Well maintained virus database, easy to use interface, automated updates, scheduled scans and even checks your incoming and outgoing e-mail for virus' before you...
Pros: Frequent up dates and automatic up dates is the best part. Cons: Significant decrease in computer performance when it scans your system.
Antivirus updates are frequent and always up to date. It seems like I get 2 to 3 antivirus up dates a week. It is nice to know your antivirus software is is staying on top of the latest viruses and other problems floating around. In addition, the...
