With an Oxo Safety Can Opener, You Won't Believe You've Actually Opened the Can!

by Javelina, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Dec 06 '03
Pros: Effortless, comfortable, lid removal pliers built in, rubber handles, satisfaction guarantee
Cons: Expensive- but worth it, you actually have to read the directions first
Who knew how important it was to have a can opener? I found this out just after moving, when we were halfway through a recipe and couldn’t get a can open! We were half way through making a dish, and unable to open a can of chickpeas, we certainly ...

CAN you believe it? Finally, I CAN use this CAN opener!

by dianapinions , Mar 30 '06
Pros: Effortless opening of cans; neat; no sharp edges
Cons: Poor instructions left us unable to use this device for years.
I recently noticed three Epinions reviews of the OXO Safety Can Opener. One of the reviewers gave this handheld can opener only one star, and talked about how this can opener was impossible to use. That coincided with my experience, exactly. How ...

$#%& This $#%& Oxo Safety Can Opener!

by mrkstvns Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Apr 24 '04
Pros: Rubberized handles won't conduct electricity
Cons: EVERYTHING! Hard to use, stupid design, too big, makes me say bad words...
"Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door." Maybe so, but have you ever wondered what happens if you build a WORSE mousetrap? To find out what happens, I think you'll have to ask the guys over at Oxo, ...

Wow!! Never Thought That I'd Ever Buy Another Safety Can Opener Ever Again!!!

by daquan Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Oct 15 '05
Pros: Very good can opener! No sharp or jagged edges to cause cuts, nicks or bruises!
Cons: Expensive.
WHY NOT? The last safety can opener worked but only for a short time. It was from one of those companies that sold it on TV though one of those infomercials. It also came with a jar opener as a supposed bargain. That thing never worked at all! My ...

Oh Oxo Safety Can Opener, how I love thee!

by chiliqueen , May 27 '07
Pros: Easy to use, smooth lid edges, can contents don't dirty gears, lid removal
Cons: Why didn't I buy this sooner??
Having gone through a procession of can openers, I was tired of ineffective can openers that a) did a poor job of cutting through the lid b) were constantly dirty from being splashed by the can's liquid contents, and c) slicing myself open on lids when ...

STUPID CAN OPENER
by jcb_sorenson ,Oct 08 '07
Pros: nice looking
Cons: everything else about it!!!
This is the most frustrating tool I've ever used!!! It's a friggin can opener--but it's so hard to use. DO NOT BUY THIS. You are much better off with a simple $2 opener. For the price of this piece of garbage, you can buy yourself a nice electric opener.

Effortless can opener
by chj1203 ,Apr 22 '07
Pros: Comfortable, thoughtful design; ease of use; excellent results.
Cons: Can't think of any -- it's a terrific product.
When my husband first used this can opener, he told me it didn't work. OXO products are usually of such high quality that I figured it must be operator error. It turned out that it actually had worked, but was so effortless to use that we didn't realize it until we read about the little plier gadget that lifts off the lid. I can't imagine a more perfect can opener, or one that's easier or more comfortable to use. This seems like design perfection.
