Pros: Comfortable, Stable, Durable, load capacity, Good in most conditions. Low Price. Cons: None
Ocean Kayaks Scupper Pro is a great choice for quality design, durability, and performance in most conditions.
I now own several models of Ocean Kayak that I use with family and friends. The Scupper Pro TW (Tank Well version) is the largest single...
Pros: Fun, lightweight Cons: Takes more than one person to carry
When I bought the Scupper Pro I thought, "I do not know about this, an open topped kayak, this might be kind of boring." But I took a chance on it, and it paid off. The kayak is so far from boring...boring is in another time zone. It is...
Pros: Versatile and easy to paddle Cons: Hard to transport solo
I've had this one for about 2 years now. At 15' it's pretty big for a Sit-On-Top. This is one VERY sturdy boat. Paddling around rock gardens and shallows won't faze this boat. I've never taken it into the surf zone, but it's certainly capable. With it's ...
Pros: surfing, price, weight, vunerability Cons: a little slow
I bought this kayak because I live in Florida and thought it would be a blast in the gulf. My friend got a Perception Prism so I really wanted one then. It is a hard choice looking for kayaks but if you really want to have some fun this is the kayak for...
Pros: Toughness, price, tracking, storing, ease of paddling Cons: None
I have had a Scupper Pro TW for 4 years, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have taken it on trips ranging from 20 minute jaunts to 50 mile, 3 day trips. All my ventures have been in freshwater rivers. I purchased this boat because ...
Great kayak for the buck! by sd_sparky ,Feb 19 '04
Pros: Tracks well,
Stable,
Fast,
Handles rough seas,
Light weight,
Tank well,
Comfortable,
Great customer service. Cons: I would like to see the rudder kit and 6" screw-in hatch as standard
I have owned a Scupper Pro TW for 3 years now and have logged many hundreds of miles in it. It is quite fast for its class as well as sturdy and stable. I often fish from mine 3-5 miles or more out in open water and always feel confident that my Scupper will get me home safely. There have been group kayak fishing trips here in San Diego involving 20 kayaks or more and at least half are Scupper Pro's. It's the fisherman's choice in the open water. I've traveled over 26 miles on mine in a single day, fishing all the way. It will haul a good load of gear without compromising much in the way of performance and handles rough water very well. I often use a kite to pull it along on the windier days. It doesn't like the surf too well as its a bit long for that kind of water, but with a little practice, you can bring it into shore without spilling.
The tankwell is very convenient for tackle boxes or an ice chest and I recommend purchasing the 6" screw in hatch for the area in front of the seat.
