Pros: Nice design, safety switch controls power to shredder Cons: Shreds fewer sheets than advertised, tines prone to bending, small shredding bin
I purchased this product one year ago to shred all the junk mail with my name preprinted on it, and all my paperwork with account numbers. It shouldn't be a lot of shredding for one small household, but it adds up. The shredder is located in a fairly ...
Pros: Size, safety, price, shreds credit cards Cons: small basket
I bought this at Office Depot about 8 months ago when I was moving. I was cleaning out some old files and found a lot of things that needed to be shredded such as pay stubs from 8 years ago. I used this thing a lot before I moved and it has held up ...
Pros: Cheap. Shreds up to 3-4 sheets into nice small diamond pieces. Cons: Intake not well designed. Mechanical switch actuates motor, inferior to photocell.
I got this shredder on sale at Office Depot for under $25. It shreds OK, but is awkward to feed. Intake opening a little too shallow and narrow - and likes to eat 3 pages or less at a time. Supposedly it can take up to 6, but bogs down with 3-4, so I've not risked it. Small bin fills quickly. I also don't like the mechanical microswitch actuator - much less easy to use than photocell actuator that better shredders have. Try this in the store before you buy! I'm using it, but don't really like it.
Good Shredder for the money...for light use by dani88 ,Sep 18 '06
Pros: Shreds very well, great undetectable cut, inexpensive, nice design, jams are easily fixed. Cons: sheets need to be aligned with the machine or else it gets jammed.
I shred about 10-20 sheets monthly and grease it once monthly. I've owned this product for about 6 months and I haven't had any problems. Just make sure to use 6 sheets at a time.
If you buy two of the same products in a store and they're faulty it doesn't always mean it's the manufacturers fault sometimes stores don't take care of their merchandise.
I have had two of these machines. After the first one broke on the first day of use, I took it back for a replacement. Then the second one broke on the first day of using. Don't waste your money on this product.
