I have wanted to write this review for a long time now. The Olympus Camedia C-700 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera is the product that brought me to Epinions in the first place. I am by no means a photographer, although I have always loved to take...
Pros: 10x Optical Zoom, full of features. Easy photo & file transfer. Cons: Only 15-second movie clips, color a little dull.
I guess I've always been a camera enthusiast since I was a kid. In high school, I was the photographer for the Academic team, and in college, I was a sports photographer for the UCI student paper. But, the main problems I had with photography were ...
Pros: way ahead of the competition - this is practically a Digital SLR! Cons: you must buy more memory. More bulky than some cool Nikons/ Canons
Ever heard of the Q-boat? The legendary warship that looks like an ordinary fishing boat to the untrained eye? When I finally figured out this camera, it reminded me of nothing else.
I have been into 35mm SLRs for a while now, and was thinking...
Pros: Picture clarity, 10x zoom! Cons: Chromatic abberation; hard to steady in zoom; 2.1 Mpixel outdated; flimsy lenscap
I've had my C-700 UZ for approximately two years. Now, while it is true that this camera has been eclipsed, in terms of technology, by several newer cousins such as the 720, 740 and 750, I figured I'd write a review about this "legacy" piece of ...
Pros: Smallest 10x optical zoom, USB link, outstanding quality Cons: Some chromatic aberration
I love this camera. I used (and have kept) my trusty Olympus D450Z for almost 2 years, and became hooked on a digital camera. The D450Z was great except:
-the 1.3megapixel ccd did limit me to at most 5x7 prints
-it used a slow serial port...
Pros: 10X Zoom, ability to control some manual functions, image quality Cons: s/w crashed WIN98 system, bulky compared to other models. No A/C charger, small 8MB card.
I had researched several models in the $400-$500 range, looking for 2.1MP image quality. I had narrowed it down to a Canon S300 or S110 or a Fuji Finepix4800. Then I saw that Olympus had the C-700 with a 10X zoom. I took a look and decided to try it...
Pros: Excellent construction, loaded with features and great picture quality! Cons: Red-eye with built-in flash (as with all compact cameras)
Wow! What an incredible impact this camera has had on our picture taking experiences. Most of my excitement is the result of the technology moreso than the camera itself, but Olympus C-700 is an amazing piece of work!
Pros: 10x zoom, Small size, Full manual mode, Driver-less connection Cons: No stabilization, Eats batteries, Small included card, No focus assist
While I'm probably not the best photographer out there, I do enjoy being able to take a decent picture. And to take a decent picture, you need a good camera, and a fair amount of control over the camera itself. You're not likely to find even the...
Pros: 10x Zoom, One touch White Balance, Size. Cons: Haven't come across any yet.
I spent months looking around for a digital camera. I thought an important factor would be the zoom. I was right about this. There are so many times when taking a picture, that I wish I could have zoomed in more, with this camera I can.
Pros: Wonderful color, small size, lots of control. Cons: Unthreaded lens, difficult to use full zoom without tripod.
This is a great little camera! But the two notable exceptions to its greatness let me to take it back in exchange for the Olympus C-2100 UZ, which I like much better.
The most glaring fault is this camera's biggest selling point...the 10X...
Pros: 10x zoom, lots of user controls, easy on batteries Cons: A few quirky defaults in the programming, lense cap, not pocket-sized.
Will try to avoid repeating stuff already covered by other reviewers...
- 10x zoom is marvelous, but be prepared to use a tripod if you are going to get full value out of that much power.
- The camera will remember the settings you've selected...
Pros: Clarity of photos, ease of use Cons: battery life
For the past two years, I've been very happy with a Sony Mavica 73. I adjusted to using an LCD screen instead of a viewfinder and though the resolution was not the greatest, it still was much better for my uses than a film camera.
Pros: 10X optical Zoom Compact Full Featured
Easy to use Good Flash. Great Buy. Cons: Wish it was 3.3 megapixels
some noise in low light situations.
This digital has a very powerful 10X optical lens that gets pictures the other cameras can't. I love to use it and have taken over 10,000 shots with most of them keepers.
I like the size as I can put it in a jacket pocket and take it to...
Pros: Great image quality, great zoom, great battery life, and great connectivity. Cons: Comes with rather small memory card, no rechargeable batteries, and no memory card reader.

Pros: Marvelous 10x zooms lens in a tiny chassis that is easy to hold. Cons: Image distortions
I cannot recommend this camera. First some positive background:
This camera has all the makings of the perfect small camera. It has a marvelous 10X optical zoom which equals the zoom abilities of my 28mm to 330mm zoom Tamron lens but at a...
